Hi everyone! Today I am so excited to share a layout I created in my 2017 Project Life album using my February collection, The Heart Is Home. This is Week 33 in my album, all about creature comforts of home and I just loved how it came together.
I actually did not have very many photos for this particular week, so a 6×12 insert was the perfect choice here. The stories for this week revolved around some of my favorite things in my home, so The Heart Is Home was perfect.
As with any digital collection, I have learned to pick my favorite cards first and use those first, so of course the black and white floral went on the layout first. I layered a simple pink washi and a stamped sentiment just to dress it up a tiny bit.
This collection featured a few hand drawn elements, and I had a ton of fun creating them. The florals peeking out above the journaling here make my heart really happy, and they were inspired by some of the flowers we grow in our front yard!
This collection was all about different things that remind me of home, whether it is people, places, or things, any of which can make us feel right at home. The diamond pattern was inspired by my wedding bands and it appears on journaling cards, the patterned papers, and as a cut file! The Week card is part of a set I designed for In My Pocket Volume 01, but I also have a set of Calendar Cards for 2018 that would be perfect to use with this collection also.
Of course the hand drawn houses fit perfectly into the layout, and the quote just sums it up perfectly for me. Physical embellishments for this layout are from Studio Calico: labels, puffy stickers; Freckled Fawn: chipboard stickers, flair; Hobby Lobby: washi tape.
