Hi there, today I am sharing my process for completing December 18 and 19 in my 2016 December Daily album! Have a look at my process!
Here is the layout as I created my foundation pages:
And this is the completed layout in the album!
My story for December 18 is about our ornaments and how they mark the passage of time for me. I love the simplicity of choosing a favorite image, writing a few lines, and calling it done for that day.
My journaling card here is from the Paislee Press mini kit, which I have added paint splatters. Once I wrote my journaling I also added a few star sequins for layering and sparkle.
The title card, which is on the back of my vellum card from the day before, was so much fun to put together. I began with the white circle and layered one of the circle transparencies from Pinkfresh Studio. Creating the title from that was quite simple, using more transparent elements from Fancy Pants and the red puffy alpha from Ali Edwards.
My photo for the day is of one of my favorite ornaments which came from Hallmark 8 or 9 years ago. This is part of their Fairies collection, and I love them so much! All of our ornaments hold so many memories for me, I have been thinking about how to document these memories in more detail. There might be another project brewing here.
I took inspiration from Ali Edwards and placed my number 18 just on the edge here, and then layered the word strip from Fancy Pants across the center. One more look at this day:
My story for December 19 is about a hot chocolate and movie night we had totally on a whim and absolutely because the kids love it. We do this about once a week where we let them sit on a blanket in the living room, eat their dinner, and watch movies. This night we allowed them to have hot chocolate with marshmallows and peppermint sticks. Yum!
My photo for this day is just taken in the living room and is really more of a documentary style photo than fairy tale image. It tells more than just one story – it tells about the blanket they put down. It tells that Nick decided to eat in the dining room anyway. It tells about the three remote controls and our little rolling table from IKEA that I love so much.
My number 19 is from Studio Calico and for now I have left them floating in the pocket. I will decide what to do with that pocket when I get to the next day. My filler card is from the Ali Edwards main kit, and I added a vellum ephemera from Sahlin Studio Oh What Fun!
I adore how this journaling card turned out! This one was part of the Paislee Press mini kit and I love the circles. I gathered inspiration from Jaimee Howard, who layered her wood star so it still popped out of the pocket a bit. I then wrote my journaling on the remaining negative space and filled in lines and drew a border around the whole thing.

Just a few more days and this project will be wrapping up. I do hope you have been able to collect some meaningful stories this season! See you soon!
