Ok guys, I have started the layout process videos for my Disney album! Yay! It feels great to get going on this album and making progress, bit by bit every week. Take a look at this week’s process:
My first step in the album process was to place photos in the album, and then I placed journal cards in the open spaces. This is how today’s layout began:
This is the completed layout:
The left hand side was pretty simple, I left the back of the vellum pockets as they were, and for the center pockets I chose three green cards from the Honey Edition Core kit. The journal card is from Sahlin Studios Project Mouse.
Since this layout is about Christmas Day, I pulled out some of my leftover products from Ali Edwards’ December Daily 2015 Main kit. The wooden Christmas tree and star, plus the stamp set, are all Ali Edwards. The star was plain wood, so I painted it and the ornament white to match the tree. The ornament is from an older Basic Grey Christmas collection – Juniper Berry.
For the right hand side, I started with the large photo of the bokeh tree lights and added a label sticker.
I decided to repeat the green labels on some of the other elements on the layout. For this photo I stamped a circle of words and added the twinkle word strip.
Underneath the photo I used a journal card and Surprise card from Project Mouse. I kept the journaling short and added just a few simple embellishments.
For the bottom photo, one more green label and a stamped sentiment. This truly was one happy day, telling them we were going to Disney! Two of the children had never been and the look on their faces was priceless.
One final filler card from Project Mouse that makes me smile when I see it, and it really encapsulates so well what this whole layout is about! I added two simple strips of washi tape and three silver arrows. Done.
And that is this week’s Disney layout! I’ll see you back here tomorrow!
