Larkindesign Documenting December In A Traveler's Notebook | Days 01 & 02!!!

Hello Lovelies!!!! Today the real fun begins in the world of December Daily! I am so excited to begin filling the pages of my December Traveler’s Notebook, and today I am sharing my pages for Days 01 and 02! You can watch the process video here.

One of my favorite things about this project is that you just never know, year to year, what stories will be told and what experiences will be had. This year Alan wanted to go see some hockey so that is what we did on the very first day of December! I used to go to hockey games a long time ago, so it wasn’t too foreign to me, but our kids had never been. I think everyone had a great time!

I added one of the Ali Edwards transparencies here using washi tape to both seal the transparency into place and also to hide the punched holes. This transparency reminded me of hockey pucks with the white/gold circles, and I layered the number circle on top. For the photos of us, I simply stacked them on the left side and added a chipboard word strip between the two.

For the large photo on the right side, I simply stamped Cheers onto a red label and placed that at the top of my photo. This is such a very simple approach and it works beautifully!

Larkindesign Documenting December In A Traveler's Notebook | Days 01 & 02!!! For Day 02, our story was all about going to pick out our Christmas tree. Now this year in NC it has been so rainy, and while I am not one bit complaining, it made this a somewhat muddy adventure. We waited until rain subsided and braved the mud pits to find the perfect one! Also Alan found the one this year, so all of this makes our story all together.

I selected several photos again to help tell this story and have used a Photo Template to lay out the photos on the right side of the layout. These are templates I released earlier this year, and if you are interested in having them, you can download them here for free! Simply click on the image and it will ask you to check out, then you will receive a link to download the templates.

You can see how I used the template to create a photo collage of three photos below. The main photo in the collage is of our kiddos and the smaller, supporting photos are of some of the muddy situation we were in. Ha! I also added text using Photoshop, and printed the entire page out. I left a bit of room for a stamped sentiment at the top and added a tiny little pink star.

This is such a great way to include more photos!

This particular layout had a transparency already sewn in, so I added my number tag and a tiny branch. The number tag is from Dear Lizzy and the branch is Crate Paper. I used my Tiny Attacher to adhere them to the page.

Larkindesign Documenting December In A Traveler's Notebook | Days 01 & 02!!!If you watched the process video then you saw how this side of the layout became my most indecisive moment of scrapbooking EVER! Ha! I must have pulled that photo up 31 times to get it where it needed to be. In the end I love it. This is Alan telling me this is the one, pointing at it and grinning. I added the gold banner and then did a cluster of embellishments below the photo.

Larkindesign Documenting December In A Traveler's Notebook | Days 01 & 02!!!Thank you for joining me today! I hope you will take advantage of the free photo templates and let me know if you use them in your own projects! I would love to see!
