For this process video I am sharing my layout for Week 04 in my 2013 album.
Here is a look at the full layout, left hand side. There is an insert because our girl had a birthday!
Our stories for this week included spending time out of doors with scooters and bikes, cooking dinner in the kitchen with the kiddos, and an exciting birthday! Emberlynn celebrated her 8th birthday with snow and a really awesome visit from her aunt and uncle!
I wanted to use some of my Felicity Jane products in this layout, and this ties in beautifully with our discussion on supplies. Now that I am no longer subscribing to this particular kit club, I have integrated all my Felicity Jane products in with others. This makes it easy to find journal cards, stamp set, and embellishments to use in my layout. I pulled several transparency die cuts and journal cards that all pull together the colors I wanted to use – pink, turquoise and yellow.
I also used some black and white elements to give a space for journaling, as the photo above shows. I have layered the black and white lined card on top of the heart card and added a simple tab along the dividing line. This is a really easy way to create a journal card!
Embellishments for pocket pages can be as simple as white cardstock cut into a banner with a stamped sentiment and a couple of enamel dots. So very uncomplicated, my friends!
The insert is all about the birthday girl, and I used one of the Felicity Jane girls here as she is holding the cutest little cupcake! She is layered on top of another black and white journal card. I have also layered the fun word on top of a floral journal card, just as a filler here. Notice how I created the tab, by simply attaching the transparent tab to the page protector.
The right side of this layout is still about the birthday and the serendipitous snow we had as well!
I have continued to use the same colors plus black and white elements on this side of the layout, to continue the visual movement across the layout. This layout really was quite simple as I found myself only using very few die cuts, and enamel dots, and I love it so much!
I am so glad I captured photos of our house. Alan lived in this house for many years before I met him, and we lived there together for several years before we moved to where we are now. I love seeing it with a beautiful blanket of snow here. Also, check out the expression on the boys’ faces! They all had an epic snow ball fight!
I created a simple title card here with the other banner and simple floral die cuts. Perfect. Also notice how I added the puffy hearts to the heart journal card, just to add a tiny bit of visual interest to that card.
Thank you for joining me today! See you in the next lesson!
