Hi everyone, let’s dive right into the process videos for this lesson. Here I am sharing my layout for 2018 Week 09.
Here is the full completed layout for Week 09.
Our stories for the week included travel again for Alan, painting my toes in hopes for spring and warmer weather, a freak hail storm, and the girls making cardboard tunnels for their skate boards. Good times.
I chose to work with my Studio Calico Documenter Kit for March called Bookmarked. I am loving the pinks and blues in the kit, along with the kraft tags and die cuts. I began the layout with a simple date card from the kit, to which I added my week number, dates, and a simple strip of fabric tape at the top.
Since Alan was traveling that week, we sent selfies to one another and I included them in the 3×4 pockets. I love documenting the ways we keep in touch when he is gone.
Two things are repeated across the layout: the kraft die cuts and the blue florals. This makes the layout so much fun to look at and adds pretty details that your eye recognizes as it moves across the page!
The best part of memory keeping for me personally is the constant reminder that everything is ok and everything is going to be ok. Of course when Alan returned we went on a date night and took some photos of ourselves together, and this is what life is all about. I am so grateful for these reminders of how good our life together is!
I adore this wooden floral die cut so I simply slid it into the pocket and added the purple word phrase on top. It’s so very easy and simple and I love that the wooden piece is now in the album, rather than being hidden away in a drawer somewhere. Also notice my fun journaling lines on this page! The stamp I used was a roller stamp from One Canoe Two that does different kinds of lines. They make me so happy!
Notice how this layout has journaling added across the page and on several different journal and filler cards. All of these together make up the whole of my journaling for this page, very much thought to page method, uncomplicated, and complete.
This layout has been so fun to share with you! Let’s move on to the next video.
