Lesson 09 Process Video No 02

For the second process video, I am sharing two separate, single-page layouts in this album. These two layouts are each opposite a full page layout and so they provide an opportunity for less-detailed layouts.

The first one page layout is a quick synopsis of our lovely honeymoon to Bermuda. Just like the wedding, the honeymoon too has its own album that is filling up with detailed stories, so this layout is simply a place to represent.

Pocket page albums, Project Life albums, provide a great context for all our photos. It is what I love most about it. I love that this layout about our honeymoon places this important trip within the context of the whole year! The trip to Bermuda was an incredible part of a really amazing year. I love that you flip through the album and oh! there’s Bermuda, and then the next page is Halloween.

I used the Studio Calico Starlight kit again for this layout. The colors flow beautifully from wedding to tropical! My title card with the lovely gold foiling needed no embellishments. My journaling again, simply expressing my feelings about this once in a lifetime trip.

I love the quick snap from downtown Hamilton. Again when choosing these photos, I just picked three of my favorite things about the island – the towns, the scooter adventures, and the beaches. I am a fan of just picking your favorite – your favorite photo, your favorite papers, your favorite embellishment – and go with that. It always makes for a great outcome.

The embellishments on this layout are definitely minimalist. I am ready to be done with this project, can you tell?!

One final photo of the beach here. I punched one of the journal cards, stamped an image, and added the puffy arrow for a really simple embellishment here. Nothing too complicated, friends. Now for the second page.

I will share a walk through video next week as part of the final lesson for this class. For the month of November I only had a handful of photos – these three here and a few from Thanksgiving! So I created my title card with just the word November, to give this layout a bit of context.

I chose the Creekside collection from One Canoe Two, and it is beautiful to work with! I had one photo of Alan that is a little bit dark, so I have used the navy patterned paper for the title card to balance. The rest of the cards are light to keep the layout from being too visually heavy.

I loved the little polaroid frames that were included in the ephemera pack, so I layered on over a patterned paper, turned the inside of the frame to the blank side, and added my journaling there.

At the time we had this big giant bucket in the living room that kept many of the stuffed animals we had. The kids would climb into the bucket as well, to play, watch TV, or play their iPods. Aren’t they hilarious?
