Lesson 03 Process Video 02
Let’s take a look at the next video for this lesson! This layout is event-based, about a fun day trip we made to the Farmer’s Market. I always love going simply for the opportunities to observe and photograph the world around us, and this trip did not disappoint!
This layout was created for part of my work as guest designer for Paislee Press in May of 2017. I love using Paislee Press digital kits in my layouts, especially for the clean, simple lines and often bright happy colors. This is the Memory Keeper collection.
In addition to the Memory Keeper collection, I also used some of the Paislee Press templates for the smaller photos on this layout. I wanted to be sure to include individual photos of each of the kids, along with photos of them together, plus photos of some of the farmers’ carts, and one photo of Alan and me together. We will chat more in-depth in Lesson 04 about how I photograph and which photos I select in my layouts, but this layout is an excellent example of what I like to do!
So the Paislee Press kit had some really pretty floral elements in the digital elements, and I wanted to include those. I created floral stickers for the title card and used the geometric card as my base. My title was added using some older October Afternoon alphabets I have had in my stash for ever.
No trip to the farmer’s market is complete without ice cream, and the blue tongue is classic. They are all so busy and happy in their own way, aren’t they?
My acrylic embellishments are from Elle’s Studio and I chose them for their pops of color. I mentioned using Paislee Press photo templates for the smaller photos, and I also added typed journaling. I printed the templates onto plain white card stock, ran them through my vintage typewriter, and then adhered the photo on top.
The word art in the Paislee Press kits always has my heart, and for this one I used the Print and Cut feature on my Silhouette. So simple to do and always adds the perfect little thing to the photo.
The farmer’s market is always a visually stimulating sort of place to visit, lots to see and definitely lots to photograph. I love seeing all the different displays and it is always amazing to me how just a simple basket of tomatoes can be so pretty! I also repeated the floral sticker on this side of the page.
Oh goodness, do you see all this personality? We definitely had our hands full, but oh the laughter and the memories. The expressions in this photo just crack me up so much. My simple embellishments are a word strip on card stock and another on wood veneer for texture.
The kids all enjoyed having their pictures taken that day, so I had a head shot of each of them. For the boys, I included their photos together in this photo template, and again added a floral sticker. The speech bubble is from Freckled Fawn.
Thank you again for following us on this journey! I hope this lesson has helped you simplify your process via technology and I especially hope you feel inspired to create!
