Larkindesign Including Ephemera In Project Life | Gatlinburg 2019 Part 04!!!

Hello Lovelies! I think you are going to really love today’s travel post! If you’d like to see all the amazing layouts in this summer mini series, check it out here: Summer Travel Series. I was inspired by all the ephemera, you know the bits and pieces you pick up along in your travels, and I thought I would create another layout from our Gatlinburg trip using those papers and pieces! Have a look at my process below!

The best part about adding ephemera to your pocket pages is that you can use what you want, and then toss the rest. So all of your tickets, maps, retail bags, and other things have a home. They also incorporate some of the feel of the place you visited and help you remember the places you were. Let’s look at the details of this fun layout!

I began this layout with the large map on the left side. Ok, I have been incorporating maps into my Project Life layouts for a long time, and everyone always loves them! This map is from the main strip in Gatlinburg and I chose it because it is more stylized than a regular old street map.

The map really is the star of this side of the layout, as it takes up 8″x12″ but that still allowed a bit more space for other things. I brought in a few elements from the Ali Edwards Travel Kit to embellish just the tiniest bit here. I have used the debossed strips from the kit and one of the 2×3 cards on the map itself.

I really love these 2×3 cards because they are the perfect layering piece and they have the perfect space for journaling! I added it over top of a part of the map that was the legend and love having just that little bit of space to write.

I also added a few photos from our day at Dollywood, and this one is from the entrance at the part. I used the street as a spot for my journaling, and then added one of the rubber banners from the Travel kit as well. So very simple! I also cut up just the part of the Savannah Bee retail bag that I wanted, and slid that into the pocket. It really didn’t need anything else!

The left hand side was now filled with color and lots of visual interest, so for the right hand side I opted a bit more neutral and light. There are a few transparent pockets, florals, and some graphic elements as well!

Up first were our tickets from our time we spent at Gatlins, which is an activity space on the main strip. When you purchase your tickets you then have choices about which activities you want to do, such as I alsoblacklight mini golf, bumper cars, the escape room, and other things! I had several of those so I layered them over top of one of the map cards from the Travel kit.

I also had the seed packet from Savannah Bee. I set the seeds aside and cut the seed packet down just a little so it would fit in the pocket. I also really loved the quote card from Anthony Bourdain. We definitely loved this area of Tennessee and definitely felt the culture and also a bit of the needs of this community. When the fires went through we decided that we needed to visit there once they had a chance to rebuild, so we could contribute to their economy and show support. The community still shows signs of struggle, and this quote really summarizes that well.

Another photo from Dollywood here, of one of the buildings at the front entrance. I added a simply chipboard banner, again from the Travel kit. I have always loved transparent elements in my pocket pages, so the Dollywood bag was just folded up to fit into the pocket, and I added the Anakeesta bracelet as well. That will show through on the next page as well!

The Dollywood tickets were a great save as well, so they are simply stapled inside the pocket with my Tiny Attacher. The GO card is one of my favorites from the Travel kit, because it is bold and graphic. All it needed was a simple date stamp.

At this point I was loving the layout so much, and still wanted to be sure to include a photo of the most important subjects, the people, US! Ha! So I added this photo from the tram at Dollywood with a banner from the Travel kit as well. Soooo many amazing elements to this layout! Thank you so much for joining me today! See you again soon!
