Hi everyone, today I am excited to have Creative Team member Maribeth Lysen on the blog! Be sure to check out her About Me page where you can learn more about her and also connect with her on social media.
I wanted to talk neutrals today. One of my favorite things about the Larkindesign’s collections are the touches of black & white patterns included every month. These make the collections super useable with any physical products you have in your stash. The neutrals in Grow Deeper Roots for March are gorgeous!
For this layout, I wanted to document some “right now things” for my birthday. The 3×4 quote card included this month was perfect for capturing how I’m feeling reflective and grateful these days. I used that card as my jumping off point.
In Photoshop, I used a grid design to make the base for this layout. In addition to the quote card, I added the black and white 3×4 Dots & Dashes card. Next I dropped in a selfie; then I typed up my journaling and printed my grid layout on matte photo paper.
Since my photo was black & white, I used the colors from lovely flower on the quote card as my starting place for choosing my physical supplies. I found this striped paper from Felicity Jane that I have been hoarding for ages and used it as my 12×12 background paper. I had the new Pink Fresh Studio release “Let Your Heart Decide” on my desk and the embellishments couldn’t have been more perfect.
I am working hard to use things I love and get them in my albums. This goes for my digital supplies and physical products. It is one of my 2018 scrappy goals. Theresa talks a lot about this in her In My Pocket Memory Keeping classes. If you haven’t checked out her classes, I highly recommend them! In My Pocket Volume 2 just went live so come join the fun!
I really loved how this layout turned out. It’s so bright and colorful. I can tell I’m dreaming of spring.
