Hello lovelies, today Neftali is on the blog sharing with you her project for February! To learn more about Neftali and connect with her on social media, visit her About Me page!
Welcome everyone, it’s Neftali here! I am back to share with you one of my projects I created for this blog using the February Heart of Home collection. But, I wanted to start off by saying that one of my favorite things of each one of these releases have to be the 12×12 digital patterned papers!
If you are an avid 12×12 scrapper like me, you might find that the patterned papers of Theresa’s collections to be your first go to when the collection releases. That’s me in a nutshell. I have been loving playing with them and trying my best to find unique and creative ways to use them. So, I’m here to share how I used them this month in an 8 1/2 x 11 layout.
This layout was so fun to create because I used some fun techniques and also managed to find the perfect sticker pad to embellish with. If you want to find out more, then keep reading!
One of the first things I decided to do before starting this layout was that I somehow wanted to incorporate most of the papers throughout the layout. So I decided to use a hexagon puncher to punch out a couple of shapes from all the patterns. That easily allowed me to incorporate all of the patterns into one layout.
I also included some punched out vellum to give my layout that soft feeling I love to include in all of my layouts. You can see in the image below, just how soft and sweet the vellum looks against all the pretty pastel colors from the patterned papers.
So my main technique with this layout and the hexagons was to create a corner-to-corner area of embellishments and paper to draw attention to my photo. I love using this technique of ‘corner-to-corner’ because if helps take your eyes on the prettiest ride from the top of your page to the bottom.
Aside from using this c2c technique I also added a few clusters to my page using the Maggie Holmes Sticker Booklet. I was so happy to see that it goes so well with this digital collection! I added a small cluster at the top left corner of my page with that beautiful Maggie Holmes bow and a few word phrase stickers. Then at the bottom right corner I went a little sticker crazy and added a fun arrangement of these pretty stickers to accent the papers and colors, but also my photo.
The patterned papers and the sticker pad was all I needed to complete this layout. Can you believe it! I love the simplicity and I love the way it turned out: the layers, pops of color everywhere, and best of all, the soft color and feel to it all!
If you enjoyed this layout share, I’d love to know what part was your favorite in the comments below! Also, if you haven’t gotten your hands on the digital collection this month you can find it all in the Larkindesign Shop.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope to have inspired you to get creative in your best way possible. I will be back next month with much more inspiration. Until next time, stay crafty!
