December Daily Days 12 and 13 | Crafty Christmas In July YouTube Hop!!!

Larkindesign December Daily Days 12 and 13 | Crafty Christmas In July YouTube Hop!!!

Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my December Daily Summer Series! Today I am so excited to participate in a YouTube Hop called the Crafty Christmas In July Hop, which is hosted by the every fabulous Heather Little. There are so many amazing ladies participating and I hope you will check out all of them through the links provided below. Each crafty lady will be sharing one layout per week throughout the month, and today I am sharing a layout from my December Daily 2018 for Days 12 and 13. Check out all the posts for this project here: Larkindesign December Daily 2018.

I am so excited to continue in my December Daily album and am starting to get a good feel for how the album is coming together. There is definitely a red, black, and white theme going! Let’s have a good look!

Days 12 and 13 are both included on the same layout, so it makes sense to complete the layouts at one time and that helps to make them flow visually. This is one definite advantage of creating your album after the fact! I had a 3.5x.3×5 photo for Day 12, and a 4×6 photo for Day 13, and that left a few pockets to fill.

Larkindesign December Daily Days 12 and 13 | Crafty Christmas In July YouTube Hop!!!

I also wanted to add a divider in between these two pages, so the two days will feel like their own page in the album. I chose the red 3×8 transparency from last year’s December Daily add-ons from Ali Edwards and used that transparency as a home for the day numbers. You can see the tiny woodgrain 12 at the top!

For this side I had (2) 3×4 pockets, so I am repeated the red with the hexagon rubber shape, I am including the rose gold with the handwritten December card, and I used a black and white card as a filler as well. This is the color palette for this page and I am loving keeping it very small.

For the bottom 4×6 pocket I began with the photo and layered it on top of a 4×6 red card. I needed a bit of space for journaling, so I cut up one of the Paislee Press journal cards to fit in the space left by the photo. I added a bit of journaling about how giant the snow piles were in the Target parking lot! I also clipped a little heart paper clip from Felicity Jane and added a red banner to my photo.

My story for Day 13 is about the stockings we put together every year. I absolutely love the stockings we do every year, filled with so much candy and treats and little fun finds! I photographed the giant heap of supplies we had bought before we wrapped it all and used this as my photo for this day.

You can see the Number 13 at the top, on the back of the transparency. This number is from Sahlin Studio. She does an amazing pack of digital number sets every year so if you are looking for some great options for numbers, go check them out at The Lilypad!

I kept the photo very simple and only added the Crate Paper banner in the center of the photo. For my 4×6 pocket I used the geometric wreath card from Paislee Press. This is one of my favorites from all of the product released last year! I added the Santa chipboard inside the wreath, and stamped lines across the bottom for my journaling.

Scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

Hello Lovelies and welcome back #scrappychristmasinjuly!!!!! I am so excited to be back working on my December Daily 2018 album and thank you all so much for following along with me! If you would like to see the entire 2018 December Daily series check it all out here: Larkindesign December Daily 2018. Today I have a full process video for you from my December Daily album for Days 10 and 11. Have a look!

So I mentioned in my video that my album had not arrived yet, but it did arrive in time for me to take photos for the blog! Woohoo! So let’s have a closer look at these layouts. I am using the Simple Stories SNAP! album with red binding, in 6×8. I think I will probably just stick with these albums in the future so they will all look beautiful lined up on the shelf together and this format is simply the best!

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

When you open my album you will find a simple beaded tassel and the tab cover from the Ali Edwards December Daily box as a cover sheet. I punched the holes in the tab cover using my We R Memory Keepers Planner Punch Board and have left it on these settings so it is easy to use while I am working on this project. It’s so fun to incorporate packaging from our special boxes we receive each year, isn’t it?!

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

I also added a Ali Edwards star transparency to the binder, which has a blue wreath and a red star attached to it. I love the see-through look inviting the reader to see what goodness lies within. In the process video I chatted a little about how all the things line up (or don’t!) between the transparency and the number + journaling underneath, and you can see how they don’t line up. And probably if I didn’t point it out you might not even notice! I am totally ok with that, it is just how things end up and it gives it charm, right?!

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

When you turn the transparency you find the photo for Day 10, which is of our girls hanging out at the dining room table. This is their spot many days because there is a power source there, and it always makes me happy to see them hanging out and having a good time together! I added the number from Ali Edwards and adhered an embroidered star inside the zero. The embroidered star is Felicity Jane. I then also stamped journaling lines using line stamps from Paislee Press. The journaling was added using a simple Sharpie marker, following the lines of the table in the photo. I love these simple details so much.

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

Notice how not only are the embellishments imperfect, but the journaling and the lines in my journaling are imperfect as well. I point this out because my hope is that you will be inspired to embrace the imperfections in your own albums, if you feel they are there, as part and parcel of creativity! Your layouts, as this layout, are beautiful just as they are.

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

For Day 10 I had a full size photo of Emberlynn decorating the tree, and Alan showing me one of our favorite ornaments. I am using a page protector that is divided into (2) 3×4 and (1) 4×6 pocket here, and love how this turned out.

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

The full photo doesn’t need much. There is a lot you could do to this photo, but I simply added a bit of washi tape and the chipboard circle. I look at this photo now and I am wishing we were back in December now! This invokes for me the classic feeling of Christmas and this is one of the biggest reasons I participate in this project.

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

For the 3×4 pockets I began with the 11 tag, which is from an older Ali Edwards December Daily kit. I trimmed it down a bit to fit into the pocket, and added a tag punch plus a bit of silver trim. I stamped the Oh What Fun! from Paislee Press onto the tiniest red tag, which is from Pretty Little Studio. That is layered on top of that thin silver washi tape. This tag, along with the silver, red, black, and white colors, became the jumping off point for this layout.

Larkindesign #scrappychristmasinjuly | December Daily 2018 Days 10 and 11!!!!

For the second 3×4 tag I layered two different cards on top of each other. I used the lined card (Pinkfresh Studio) as the base, and then punched the Merry Happy Everything from an Ali Edwards card at the top. The circle punch was just a bit smaller than I needed, but I used it anyway. You will notice I adhered that half circle a bit lower and added another strip of washi tape on top. The rubber heart circle is from Felicity Jane and adds another touch of black to the card.

You can see I added a little grey star to the photo of Alan, and these two days are in the books! Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my Summer Travel Mini Series! Today I am sharing the last process video from this series and there will be one more video where I will share a walk through of these layouts in the album itself! I hope you will subscribe to my newsletter to find out what next month’s exciting theme will be! Of course if you are new here, or if you have missed pieces of this fun travel series, be sure to visit this link to get caught up: Summer Travel Mini Series.

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

During the last week of May this year we traveled to the Outer Banks of NC, namely Kitty Hawk, Duck, and Nags Head areas. You can view my full process for this layout here:

Let’s have a closer look at this layout! This was of course a photo heavy layout and I really wanted the ocean and beautiful skies to be the stars of the page. I chose Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection from Crate Paper to help add pretty things to my layout.

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

Beginning with the first 4×6 card, which is typically my day card, I used the circle patterned paper as my background. This patterned paper became sort of the starting point for my colors in the layout: the blues, yellows, and pinks are perfect for beach photos. I added the number 22 from the cut apart specialty sheet and added the Outer Banks using the gold glitter slphabets. The filler card underneath is not embellished at all, and stands alone just as it is.

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

I took a selfie while we were lounging under our umbrella and made sure to include myself in this layout. I added sunglasses from the sticker sheet and a simple word sticker to that photo. The boys spent a bit of time digging in the sand just for fun, so I snapped their photo as well and added the word sticker to that photo as well.

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

This little lady on the float is one of my favorite elements in this collection, so I placed her in the upper corner of the photo of our girls, and added a word strip. It’s so cute! Another of my favorites is this navy card with pink floral. I trimmed it down to fit in the 3×4 pocket and just love having it there. One thing I thought would be fun is to have elements in the pockets that are smaller than the pocket, so I left this journaling spot just as it is. We will see later on in this album how I handle the back!

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

No beach trip is complete without a photo of feet in the sand! The only thing I did to that photo was add a circle embellishment using my Tiny Attacher.

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

The right hand side of the layout carries the same colors throughout. Along with blues, pinks and yellows there was also a bit of orange in this collection so I have included that too, just for fun

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

The sky was stunning on this day, so I have featured it in this photo and added the transparent word on top. I also added a word strip from the sticker pack beneath. So so pretty.

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

The coral card and the Let’s Go tag are left untouched, but I needed a bit more space for journaling. I cut up this mint paper below so I had lines plus a bit of word art. Of course, once I cut what I wanted it wasn’t quite big enough for a 4×6 pocket, so I layered it on top of the orange paper. That paper is also an easy favorite in the collection! Pick your favorites to use first!

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

For one more journaling card I layered this piece from the cut apart sheet that also had lines. I layered it over the pink and white polka dot paper and again stapled the elements together. I mentioned in the process video that I never actually used any adhesive tape runner, just the Tiny Attacher on this layout!

Larkindesign Documenting Travel In Project Life | Part 06 Outer Banks NC ft. Crate Paper Sunny Days!!!

One final photo of the kids together. Some of them did not seem interested in photographs today so I just took this one of them observing waves. The water was under a severe rip tide warning that weekend so no one really got in the water. They still hung out in the surf and found seashells. I love capturing them all together.
