Hello Lovelies and welcome back #scrappychristmasinjuly!!!!! I am so excited to be back working on my December Daily 2018 album and thank you all so much for following along with me! If you would like to see the entire 2018 December Daily series check it all out here: Larkindesign December Daily 2018. Today I have a full process video for you from my December Daily album for Days 10 and 11. Have a look!
So I mentioned in my video that my album had not arrived yet, but it did arrive in time for me to take photos for the blog! Woohoo! So let’s have a closer look at these layouts. I am using the Simple Stories SNAP! album with red binding, in 6×8. I think I will probably just stick with these albums in the future so they will all look beautiful lined up on the shelf together and this format is simply the best!
When you open my album you will find a simple beaded tassel and the tab cover from the Ali Edwards December Daily box as a cover sheet. I punched the holes in the tab cover using my We R Memory Keepers Planner Punch Board and have left it on these settings so it is easy to use while I am working on this project. It’s so fun to incorporate packaging from our special boxes we receive each year, isn’t it?!
I also added a Ali Edwards star transparency to the binder, which has a blue wreath and a red star attached to it. I love the see-through look inviting the reader to see what goodness lies within. In the process video I chatted a little about how all the things line up (or don’t!) between the transparency and the number + journaling underneath, and you can see how they don’t line up. And probably if I didn’t point it out you might not even notice! I am totally ok with that, it is just how things end up and it gives it charm, right?!
When you turn the transparency you find the photo for Day 10, which is of our girls hanging out at the dining room table. This is their spot many days because there is a power source there, and it always makes me happy to see them hanging out and having a good time together! I added the number from Ali Edwards and adhered an embroidered star inside the zero. The embroidered star is Felicity Jane. I then also stamped journaling lines using line stamps from Paislee Press. The journaling was added using a simple Sharpie marker, following the lines of the table in the photo. I love these simple details so much.
Notice how not only are the embellishments imperfect, but the journaling and the lines in my journaling are imperfect as well. I point this out because my hope is that you will be inspired to embrace the imperfections in your own albums, if you feel they are there, as part and parcel of creativity! Your layouts, as this layout, are beautiful just as they are.
For Day 10 I had a full size photo of Emberlynn decorating the tree, and Alan showing me one of our favorite ornaments. I am using a page protector that is divided into (2) 3×4 and (1) 4×6 pocket here, and love how this turned out.
The full photo doesn’t need much. There is a lot you could do to this photo, but I simply added a bit of washi tape and the chipboard circle. I look at this photo now and I am wishing we were back in December now! This invokes for me the classic feeling of Christmas and this is one of the biggest reasons I participate in this project.
For the 3×4 pockets I began with the 11 tag, which is from an older Ali Edwards December Daily kit. I trimmed it down a bit to fit into the pocket, and added a tag punch plus a bit of silver trim. I stamped the Oh What Fun! from Paislee Press onto the tiniest red tag, which is from Pretty Little Studio. That is layered on top of that thin silver washi tape. This tag, along with the silver, red, black, and white colors, became the jumping off point for this layout.
For the second 3×4 tag I layered two different cards on top of each other. I used the lined card (Pinkfresh Studio) as the base, and then punched the Merry Happy Everything from an Ali Edwards card at the top. The circle punch was just a bit smaller than I needed, but I used it anyway. You will notice I adhered that half circle a bit lower and added another strip of washi tape on top. The rubber heart circle is from Felicity Jane and adds another touch of black to the card.
You can see I added a little grey star to the photo of Alan, and these two days are in the books!
