Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine

Bermuda Layout No. 05 | On An Adventure!

Hi guys, today I am sharing the next layout in my Bermuda honeymoon album with you! Products I am using are a combination of Amy Tangerine plus Crate Paper Oasis!

Here is the full layout. I still had more photos from around the hotel I wanted to include in this album, so those are my jumping off point for the layout.

The left hand side is a divided pocket page made of 3×3 squares that were begging for another full size photo. This amazing gazebo was built over the water on the hotel property and was simply magical! The only embellishment I added were the transparency card from Dear Lizzy Saturday and the gold hearts from Pink Paislee Take Me Away.

The pinks and corals from the photos are what drove my decisions for selecting the journal cards, and all of Amy Tangerine’s collections use those colors so beautifully! I added just a few embellishments from Crate Paper Oasis as well, and they coordinate perfectly!

My journaling focuses on how excited we were to get away by ourselves for a few days. It doesn’t happen often, with four kiddos and my parents being gone and his parents being far away. So this was incredibly special to us!

The only card that is not from Amy Tangerine is the middle striped card, which is Dear Lizzy. It ties in all the colors of the layout and provides easy journaling lines, so it’s a win-win!

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24B | Amy Tangerine Rise And Shine!

Hi there, so I had split this week’s layout into two and last week I showed you the left side, now it’s time for the right side. Take a look at my process video:

You might not recall what it had looked like, so here is how this layout had started:

TBT Project Life Week 24B

And here is what I changed:

TBT Project Life Week 24B

I decided that the events of this week and the following week really weren’t told in the best way using the Collect photos. I went back in my archived photos from last year and found some really fun photos – some of them taken with my DSLR and some taken with my iPhone. The story of this week was about Nick’s 11th birthday, so I chose and printed a few more. I also changed the page protector to Design A, in order to accommodate those larger photos.

Here is how the layout turned out:

TBT Project Life Week 24B

I realized I had a bit of the Sophia transparency left over (this is from the Rise & Shine collection), and even though it was a bit short, I left the manufacturer strip at the bottom. I added a stamped sentiment and my title. And yes, the silver key is upside down just because.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24B

Inevitably, whenever I ask all four kids to pull together for a joint photo, many outtakes result because it takes them a minute to calm themselves down enough for the shot. These photos actually are important, because their true personalities show through, so I included several of them here. While these smaller ones are not created in Collect, I did create a border around them so that this side would be tied into the other side. And since I added the white border around those, all of the photos in this layout have a white border.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24B

I think one of my memory keeping strategies has long involved a concern for being fair to each of the children when photographing them and when including them in my scrapbook layouts. This is sometimes a challenge, when one child does not wish to have their photo taken on that particular day. And sometimes, I fail miserably at being fair and I just scrap the photos I want to. But it is important to note that while this is Nick’s birthday, all of the photos show him with others. Birthdays are family events for us, and that is one thing I wanted to convey in this layout.

And then I have to be honest and tell you that this is one of the reasons I scrapbook. This photo right here. I know that I am focusing heavily on Nick right now, and that is ok because he and I went through some trauma together! He is the kid who made me a Mom, and he and I share a unique bond because of that. This photo makes me so very happy.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24B

This photo might not be the most perfect photo in the world (and trust me, it’s not!). It’s got some technical challenges and my hair is plastered to my head and my mouth is open way too wide. But this photo encapsulates a feeling I want to remember long after all the children move out.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24B

And this is the photo of all four of them, celebrating, having a great time, and being together on this day.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24B

It felt really good to get these photos and story told and it felt really awesome to do some work with Design A page protectors again. I think if I were to recommend using the Collect app, or were to go back to using it, it would be similar to this layout. The end result of a combination of smaller photos + larger photos, the white borders, and the physical products, all come together for a really fun layout. Alright, I’ll see you again soon!

#TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24!

So today I have a process video from my 2015 Project Life album to show you. In this series, I am throwing back to catch up in an old album using older products. Here is my process video!

I started with the collection of photos I had taken using the Collect app, and then pulled my Gossamer Blue kits from May 2015. I looked back to see what collections Gossamer Blue were designed to coordinate with, and I have to admit one collection was included that I had entirely forgotten even existed – Amy Tangerine’s Rise & Shine!!

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24

So if you are following closely, yes, there is a week missing. I am really not sure how Week 23 went missing or where it went, but anyway, we are moving on! Here is the layout completed:

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24

I started with the date card, and figured out that the white alpha I used was just a tad too big. So I made it kinda wonky, and kept on going. Noticing a trend here? I am so ready to finish this album!

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24

This photo of me and my daughter gave me an opportunity to use some of the pinks, and I’m really happy about that.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24

These wooden tags from the Rise & Shine collection are really cute and I can’t believe I forgot I had them. This is one of the reasons I love this series – it forces me to pull products I forgot I had. Basing these layouts off older kits really helps with that too!

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24

This was a really fun layout and really fun colors to work with. The clear stickers from Rise & Shine are so cool. I’m not normally a feather kind of person, but these were too cute to leave in the package.

TBT Project Life 2015 Week 24

This was not a very complicated layout, and that is pretty much it for today. Stay tuned to see the opposite side – while working on this layout I realized the next page needs to be a bit different and I am excited to get that side done. So I’ll see you soon!
