Project Life 2016 Week 29 | Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness!

Hi guys!!!! I am working my way through the summer in my 2016 Project Life album, and today is Week 29. Have a look at my process:

Here is the layout as I created it in the Project Life App, using the Girl Themed cards.

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

Here is the layout completed:

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

For the left hand side I began with the date card and added my dates using these super awesome puffy alphas from Dear Lizzy.

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

I decided to use some of my Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness products, as you can see here. I adore this iconic girl!

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

This was the week that Pokémon Go! was released, so I made sure to include some of our screen shots the we grabbed.

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

When my Ali Edwards kit arrived this week, Natalie spied it and went through all the contents with me, then she decided she just had to have the envelope it came in. I can’t blame her one bit, they are really cool. I think she keeps her iPod in it sometimes now!

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

I just really like this floral journaling card from Simple Stories. The chipboard embellishments layer perfectly on top.

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

There is no embellishment on this photo, but it is too cute to leave out. There were several nights in a row that Zoe did this – she climbed up in Alan’s lap and took over his tablet. Silly kitty.

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

The right hand side of the layout is about my BFF’s visit while on their way to vacation! We met up for dinner since they were only here overnight.

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

Pictured from left to right are: Diedre (Dalia’s daughter), Shelby (Diedre’s best friend), Jonas (Dalia’s son), Natalie and Nick (my two), Alan and me, and Dalia and Kevin!

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

I love how Project Life gives me a place to document these moments in our lives that otherwise might go in a “scrap someday” pile. I also am particularly fond of our yearly visit and am so happy the tradition is holding!!!

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

One more look at the layout as a whole:

Larkindesign Project Life 2016 Week 29

That is it for today, come back tomorrow for Disney! This week is sort of strange and I don’t know how things are going to go down just yet because I have jury duty on Wednesday! I do hope to have a project up on Friday (the one I promised last Friday!) and then next week will hopefully be back to normal (unless I get chosen for a really long trial or something like that). I will keep you guys posted.

Project Life 2016 Week 30 | Using Your Kit Subscriptions!!!!

Hi guys, today I am working in my 2016 Project Life album, Week 30. I have created my layout in the Project Life App using the Blush Edition and Blush Overlays. The layout was then printed 12×24 through Persnickety Prints, and embellished on top. Have a look at my process!

One of the things I love most about subscribing to monthly kits is having fun new products landing on my doorstep every month. Products I didn’t have to think about or shop for or stalk websites for. I love having my kit products near me as I work throughout the month because I find lots of ways to use them here and there.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

This is the layout as I created it in the App, and below is the completed layout, with journaling and embellishments.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

I decided last month to pull all of my Ali Edwards kit products together, and this month I pulled all of my Freckled Fawn products together as well. You saw in the video how I grabbed a wooden tray and filled it with my growing stash. Then I set about to embellishing this page.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

The date card here is from the Project 52 Edition in the App, and then I added just a few embellishments plus the date stamp. Underneath is a bit of journaling about our week, and a fun filler card that I layered my embellishments on top of.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

Our two kiddos who had beenin Florida returned home this week, and we were all really happy they were back. This was how our Sunday began, hugs in the kitchen.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30v

In exciting gardening news: my hydrangea put out one tiny little hidden bloom! I had all but given up on this plant blooming this year, but it surprised me!

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

Above that I had another quick snap of my impatiens that are also doing so well. I love that Project Life gives me a place to include these photos as part of my whole life story! Everyone has their own goals for what they want to document their Project Life and my goal has been simply to document the events, people, places, and things that make me happy!

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

When Nick and Natalie left to go to their Dad’s house this week, Natalie cleaned up her room and left her bed just like this. I love it.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

One more look at this side of the layout:

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

The right hand side of the layout is event-based: on Saturday the kids took off to Putt Putt for all you can play. I stayed behind to do a little work, and then met up with them in time for lunch!

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

Deciding how many photos and which photos to include can be tricky, but have a sort of formula. I’m not married to the formula, but it helps me. I think it is particularly important to include all our kiddos and to include the photos that show them doing and playing and interacting. I don’t always do posed shots, I avoid them mostly, because I want to capture their personalities.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

This journaling card makesme especially happy. The words are an overlay in the App, and then of course I added a few embellishments, and then I stamped my journaling lines in between. So much fun.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

Another non-posed photo, for the most part!

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

I am staying true to my commitment to leaving some photos and cards un-embellished. Look how different the girls hold themselves while playing the same game. I absolutely love that.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

And here’s my girl. I know I could very well hear it in the future, how there are a lot of photos of Natalie in this album this year, and I will not let those comments (or the potential for those comments!) steal my joy. Natalie is really the only one who still likes having her picture taken these days. And I love that right now, she seeks me out in her every day. It won’t be like that forever, so I cherishing it.

Larkindesign Theresa Moxley | Project Life 2016 Week 30

Alright, see you back here tomorrow for Disney!

Project Life 2016 Week 28 | Crate Paper Cute Girl!!

Hi guys! Today I am working in my 2016 Project Life album for week 28. I created the layout in the Project Life App using the Currently Edition kit and printed it through Persnickety Prints. I then embellished on top using Crate Paper Cute Girl. Have a look at my process!

Here is a look at the layout as it was created in the Project Life App:

Project Life 2016 Week 28

And here is the full layout complete with journaling and embellishments:

Project Life 2016 Week 28

I decided purposely on this layout to not include a date card from the App, but I chose this card from the Currently kit because it had a great space for stamping the date and week. Alphabet stamp set is from Kerri Bradford, the Ashland set, and the date stamp is from Heidi Swapp.

Project Life 2016 Week 28

Above this card I added a photo of my daughter at her dentist’s office that week. I also have photos of our lily that bloomed this week!

Project Life 2016 Week 28

This card is a simple filler card, so I added a few embellishments for fun.

Project Life 2016 Week 28

I am absolutely in love with the geometric confetti puffy stickers in the Cute Girl collection. I just want sheets and sheets of them, please?!

Project Life 2016 Week 28

Our lilies finally bloomed this week and we were sooo excited! This is the second year I have had them and last year when I planted them, they were already blooming. I had no idea it took so long for them to pop! And they were prolific this year, too! So much prettiness by our mail box.

Project Life 2016 Week 28

Another look at the left side of the layout:

Project Life 2016 Week 28

For the right hand side I began with this adorable filler card. I was decidedly more generous with embellishments on this side, and I love that.

Project Life 2016 Week 28

Underneath are two more journaling cards, but I only used one for journaling. The transparent Hey Girl element is perfect layered over the citron stripes, and puffy stickers embellish the grey polka dots beautifully.

Project Life 2016 Week 28

This photo is of Natalie’s Splatoon Amiibo characters that she saved up her own money to buy. She is a die-hard Splatoon expert and plays almost every day, lining up her characters just like this!

Project Life 2016 Week 28v

Another filler card here, with layered die cuts and the adorable pink cat puffy sticker from Cute Girl. Simple, but oh so cute!

Project Life 2016 Week 28

Sometimes you need to include cute cat photos in your Project Life, and Zoe provides lots of those cute moments for us! This particular night she came and sat on Alan’s tablet, she sat on his hand, she laid on his shoulder, and then she settled right here. I absolutely love that Crate Paper includes cat motifs in some of their collections (the last one was Wonder!)

Project Life 2016 Week 28

One more look at the right hand side:

Project Life 2016 Week 28

That is all for today! See you tomorrow!

TBT Project Life 2014 Weeks 29-31 | Maggie Holmes Open Book!

Hi guys! I sort of had a speed scrap session and got two layouts done in this week’s video! So have a look!

I have promised myself that I want to finish this album before the end of November, so I am hoping to double up for the next few weeks just to get it done. Today’s layouts document the landscaping we did as part of the Sweat Equity program, and then the final walk-thru of the house. Whew!

Project Life 2014 Week 28-29

This is the first layout, first with just photos and journaling cards (above), and then completed below.

Project Life 2014 Week 28-29

I think I will include the close-up photos here as a Gallery. Feel free to click on any image and it will enlarge, and it will also allow you to scroll through each one!

Here is the second layout, and it includes an insert which is a darling photo of our daughters hanging out happily together on the carpet. I love this photo – it actually sums up how we felt about having the house completed and feeling a sense of calm before the storm.

Project Life 2014 Week 30-31

This layout across the whole page was incredibly neutral because of all the empty rooms, so I selected products from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection that are also very neutral. Her black and white patters, with just tiny touch of colors here and there, are perfect.

Project Life 2014 Week 30-31

Here again is a Gallery for layout 2:

When you flip the insert you find a little love note that Natalie drew for me, and then the rest of the completed house.

Project Life 2014 Week 30-31

The completed layout, and our finished home.

Project Life 2014 Week 30-31

One more Gallery for you to see. So many wonderful photos!

I truly hope you have enjoyed following along in this project! It has been so much fun documenting this big thing for our family, and I am so happy this is written down and photographed and able to be looked at any time we wish. It’s a great feeling. Stay tuned for next week, I will show you my plans for the rest of the album!

Disney Project Life | Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones!

Hi guys! Today I am documenting our visit to Disney Hollywood Studios in my Disney Project Life album. Have a look at my process here:

Here is the layout with photos and journaling cards. The cards are from Sahlin Studios Project Mouse and the Midnight Edition Core kit from Project Life.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

Here is the layout completed, with journaling and embellishments:

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

The very first thing I did in my process was to add my splashes of watercolor on the journal cards. I love how subtle these little additions of color are, and how fun it is to add watercolors to your cards!

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

Now if you watched the process video then you are probably laughing when you look at this card! I am laughing too, so it is totally ok. This was an example of what not to do in stamping, and yet even though I experienced a funny adventure creating this card, I still really love how it turned out in the pocket!

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

The photos across the bottom are of the stage, taken from the audience. Narrowing down which photos to include here: of course I took probably 100 just at this show, and then I printed probably 10. In the end these were included because they show some of the most exciting portions of the show and they fit in with the story I am telling.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

Now the story I am telling in this layout is really about how mesmerized all the kids were during this show. We loved this show A LOT (!!!) and so the photos and the journaling all work together to tell that story overall.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

I really think, of course, that this photo landed in this layout precisely because Addison is totally fixed on this show. I love the moment this photo captures, where he is in the foreground, and then Nick’s ear and shoulder are behind him, and Emberlynn’s pony tail behind that!

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

Here is one more look at this side:

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

On the right hand side I wanted to include some of the miscellaneous shopping photos I took that day. I did this in Epcot, too, if you remember the layout about the nutcracker in the window. I loved shopping at Disney and loved all the shop displays! I wish I had taken more photos of us picking out things we wanted and things we got, but it is ok to let that go.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

I absolutely love how these watercolors and Heidi Swapp Shine add pops of color to these journaling cards! I know some people are bothered because the gold one leaves a ring around the splash, but I have to say I think they kind of look like suns here! What helps, too, is putting the color down and then move the card around a bit so the lighter color can spread a bit more.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

I didn’t actually buy this little stuffed puppy, but we all really did fall in love with him. Also, notice how I did not add watercolors to every journal or filler card.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

And then one last card on this layout, which is fairly simple and lovely. These Project Life Core kit cards provide such great canvases for additional embellishments.

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

One last look at this side of the layout:

Disney Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones

So that’s it for today’s layout! You will have to let me know what you think about adding mixed media to Project Life and Project Mouse cards. See you tomorrow!

Project Life 2016 Week 26 | Dear Lizzy Saturday!!!!

Hi guys! I am working on Week 26 in my 2016 Project Life album, so have a look at my process today:

Here is the layout as I created it in the Project Life App, and then printed through Persnickety Prints. The cards I used in the App are from the Good Vibes kit with the exception of the date card, which is from the Project 52 kit.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

Here is the completed layout, with journaling added by hand and embellishments are all from Dear Lizzy Saturday collection!

Project Life 2016 Week 26

You have probably figured out by now that I really love Dear Lizzy’s products and I use them often. The Saturday collection does not disappoint! I ended up using the Saturday embellishments on the entire card here, and a small bit of journaling.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

This week two of our kids were in Florida, and the other two are here fifty percent of the time, so that left us with a few days just the two of us. I made that the focus of my journaling and photos on this page.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

I will let you guys in on a really awesome secret about my husband: he is a very successful computer expert and well-respected in his field, but he is also an amazing cook! One of my favorite things is when he makes chocolate chip cookies. This is one of those things Project Life is perfect for – to document our favorite things.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

One of the reasons I chose the Saturday collection to embellish this layout with is because the collection has lots of black and white touches. When I created the layout in the App, I chose the Good Vibes collection and included the date card from the Project 52 kit, which is black and white. So I needed the black and white to tie this all together.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

My thought process as I worked around the page was really quite simple: add just one or two small things to each card or photo. I took the time to trim the cut-apart sheets and some of those I used as embellishments as well.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

I did not add anything to this photo collage. I created the photo collage right in the Project Life App and brought it into the layout just like any other photo. I love capturing our laughter and silliness, even right in the driveway.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

One more look at this side of the layout:

Project Life 2016 Week 26

On the opposite side I began with a photo of Nick and Natalie playing video games in the living room. This doesn’t happen often! But when the other two kiddos are gone, they find each other and play video games together and that makes me so happy to see. They do actually love each other!

Project Life 2016 Week 26

Some of the decorative elements on the cards I ended up covering up. I love this flexibility and this chance to make these layouts my own. And of course, the chance to get to use up my stash in fun ways!

Project Life 2016 Week 26

I wasn’t sure about placing this plain wood grain filler card, but I also knew by the time I embellished the layout I would know exactly what to do. Sure enough, I was happy to layer paper strips with floral stickers, washi tape, and rubber shapes. Sweet!

Project Life 2016 Week 26

This little friend visited our yard during the week. I was happy to photograph him quietly and then leave him to find his own path, but it sure was fun seeing him! I think it is good luck when box turtles visit!

Project Life 2016 Week 26

The turquoise circle on this filler card became the jumping off point for how to embellish this card. I decided to cut out the Dream circle and I added the round rubber embellishment, along with another flower sticker. The second filler card I realized I was completely not thrilled with, so I covered it up with the pattern and the words.

Project Life 2016 Week 26

The final card on the layout just makes me so happy. The cascading hearts are adorable, but they did give me a tiny challenge how to layer on top without completely obscuring them? So I kept it simple with the camera, the word strip, and the rubber heart. Just a few stamps around the page as well, and this layout is complete!

Project Life 2016 Week 26

One last look at the right hand side of the layout:

Project Life 2016 Week 26

Oh, this layout was so much fun to create! There weren’t many photos from this week, so that meant a lot of filler cards and lots of opportunities to embellish. That makes me incredibly happy! See you tomorrow for Disney!!!

~Theresa

TBT Project Life 2014 Week 27 | Charming Core Kit + Dear Lizzy Documentary!!!

Hi guys!! It’s Throw-back Thursday today and I am so excited to share a layout that highlights some of the finishing products the installers placed in our home as it was being finished up. Have a look at my process:

So today you probably noticed I did three pages in the album. Here are those three pages with just photos and journaling cards:

Project Life 2014 Week 27
Project Life 2014 Week 27

So I began with the right hand side of this layout, which shows photos of the appliances and sink fixtures that had been delivered but not installed quite yet. For me, this is the most exciting part!

Project Life 2014 Week 27

The weekly date card shares the dates and week number, and also repeats the Phase number in this project. Everything is so very close to being done.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

I itemized some of the products that were delivered, using one of the list cards from the Charming Core Kit. A lot of things are happening, so I love being able to just list it out right here.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

More photos of the boxes lined up in the garage. Carefully we counted and verified everything was there (although of course we knew the contractor had done that already!) Who knew that boxes could be so exciting? I am so glad I took some time to photograph these.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

I am still using the circle dates from Paislee Press, with numbers added on top. If you saw the process video you saw me paint those numbers with nail polish! How fun!

Project Life 2014 Week 27

I know it is really hard to tell in these photos, but my shoes are the shoes I wore while we painted and they are actually coated in paint. I still laugh when I think about those poor shoes! They are worth including in this story.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

The embellishments from the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection added just the right sentiments to these photos. I know that vinyl tile isn’t that exciting in the grand scheme of things, and we committed to finishing this home with hard-working finishes that weren’t overly lavish. But for me, this was a really big deal. I am so thankful for this simple flooring.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

Turn the page and the second and third pages cover Week 27 in this album. Photos are pretty much more finishes and some overall documentation of the progress on the interiors.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

On the left hand side I began with the date card, mixing stamps and alphas plus washi and stickers.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

They installed the shelving for the closets and pantry, and this had to be included. We were so excited to get this pantry – with four growing kids we stock a lot of food in our house. For school alone we pack 16 lunches per week. So this pantry is a necessity for us.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

I have photographed our living room at different stages through this process, and so here is another photo, now with fireplace and tile surround, all the paint and trim, flooring, and lighting.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

And our kitchen here, also complete, although the flooring is under wraps. Contractors are still in and out finishing up things and we still have to complete our touch-ups, so the hardwoods are being protected still. I cannot express how much I love this kitchen. We chose this floor plan specifically for this kitchen and its open view to dining room and living room, but also because it is spacious! Even though our builder is still building lots of houses with dark cabinetry, we chose all white. White cabinets, white appliances, and a utilitarian Formica counter. Where we invested our money on this floor was the 9-foot ceilings and taller baseboards, did you notice the ceiling height? That is my designer trick to make the rooms look large and roomy.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

This photo below is looking into the master bath. You can tell in this photo that the quarter round has still not been completed here! So very close to being done.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

This photo kind of cracks me up – who takes a picture of their door knob? This girl here, that’s who! Just more small, but important details.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

The right hand side shows the air condition unit, gas meter, and thermostat. After working in the house in 95 degree days, we were ecstatic to get that installed!

Project Life 2014 Week 27

I absolutely adore how this filler card turned out. I am still in Week 27, so no need for a date card here.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

Underneath is my journaling for this page. I am sure I have never been so excited to see air vents in my life!

Project Life 2014 Week 27

This is our gas meter. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t until I had this photo printed out and my husband saw it the other day, he pointed out to me that the meter sits on ZERO here! Neither one of us have ever had one that was on zero, brand new, never used before.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

The air vents that I never imagined being so excited about! I know these things probably are so boring and mundane, and maybe you are asking yourself why document these every day things? And I say, why not document these every day things? Several years ago I lost my home (and all my life savings) in my divorce settlement. For me these things are all really big. This is worth celebrating.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

In the larger scheme, I am so happy to record these every day things because they are part of the story of our family. One day, hopefully many years from now, our children will sell this house. When they do, they will pull out this album and remember.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

But for today, they will know how much this house means to us. They will know the stories and the struggles and the connection. They will know why this house is more than just a house.

Project Life 2014 Week 27

This has been a photo-filled post today, thanks for reading along. I plan to double up some in the next few weeks so I can get this album finished up. I was working on my production schedule and realized that it is time to plan and begin December Daily, which means production schedule changes entirely in November and December! That means I need to finish this album in October. I am ready to finish it up and am looking forward to that. Thanks so much for encouraging me along!

Project Life 2016 Week 25 | Amy Tangerine Oh Happy Life!!!!

Hi guys!!!! I am so excited about today’s layout and cannot wait to show you!!!! Have a look at my process video:

Alright, so I began my layout in the Project Life App, printed through Persnickety Prints, using the Project 52 cards available in the App itself.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

I was so excited to start getting some of Amy Tangerine’s newest collection in my mail! This one is called Oh Happy Life! and I felt like it matched perfectly with the Project 52 colors!

Project Life 2016 Week 25

In my process video I began with these watercolor resist cards. I simply added Tim Holtz Distress paints in random ways to the cards and let the resist do its magic! The colors I used are Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron, and Mermaid Lagoon.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

I added the floral clear sticker from the Oh Happy Life! collection, cut in half, around the card for layering. Oh my goodness, I just love it.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

We had the cutest visitor in our back yard, so I very gingerly snapped a few unobtrusive photos and we watched him wander away into the ravine behind our house. I combined journaling here with the turtle story on the top half and the photos below are journaled on the lower half. The sunglasses are adorable here to signify the separation!

Project Life 2016 Week 25

Two of ours were away in Florida with their grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins this week, and these photos were sent back to us. They look like they are doing excellent! (Photo courtesy of Uncle Jeff Brown!)

Project Life 2016 Week 25

My flower pots are growing and filling beautifully this week. Next to that photo I used another of the watercolor resist cards layered on top of the Project 52 filler card. And then I also layered a clear sticker and the -week portion of the foam sticker that also comes from Oh Happy Life!

Project Life 2016 Week 25

I absolutely love these completely ordinary moments, and I promise you our life is exactly this uneventful. My sweet husband is here changing the sheets on the bed, and you can see that Zoe is clearly helping him by making sure the heated blanket is nearby and occupied. I also absolutely love that Project Life gives me this awesome place to not only take this photo, but to give it a little context. I didn’t need to write any journaling about this photo, but I still included it because this album is just the right place to include ordinary, every day moments just like this.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

On the left hand side of this layout the date card takes the first spot. Clear stickers and washi tape from Oh Happy Life! make fun embellishments to this card.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

Underneath is another of the watercolor resist cards, again layered on top of a Project 52 filler card. I love this simple layering of watercolor on top of graphic.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

We took Natalie in this week for a check-up on her arm and she was at this point healing up great. I added the foam stickers and added just a tiny stamp to each one.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

I even used the marketing strip from one of the patterned paper, along with some of the clear heart stickers. This photo is Zoe yet again, this time she caught me napping and climbed up into my neck to get comfy.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

I am absolutely digging the clear stickers in this collection. Here I cut the word strips just to add a little something to this card. I also used another of the foam stickers to accent here. Note the repetition around the page: foam stickers, watercolor cards, and clear stickers appear in several places to create a unified look.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

Our house in the dark. We water our yard almost every night unless it rains, and sometimes that happens after everyone has gone to bed. It’s comforting to me, to see the house lit up and inviting us inside.

Project Life 2016 Week 25

Another look at this side here:

Project Life 2016 Week 25

Well, I hope you have been inspired to use this new collection! I have been able to find pieces of it at A Cherry on Top, Scrapbook.com, and Paper Issues recently. I will see you back here tomorrow with my Disney series!

~Theresa

Project Life 2016 Week 24 | Gossamer Blue August 2016 Kits!

Hi guys! So this week I plan to mix it up a bit from the normal production schedule. I am releasing two videos this week, both from the same week in my Project Life album, but two different types of layouts. Have a look at today’s process video:

Here is the video as I created it in the Project Life app, using the P52 journal cards in the app:

Project Life Week 24

Here is the layout completed, using the products in the Gossamer Blue Main and Life Pages kits from August 2016:

Project Life Week 24

This week was about my flowers growing in our yard, and our kids! Two of our kids were preparing to go to Florida to spend some wonderful summer time with their grandparents. So on this layout the photo on the top right hand corner is about the last day those two were here. Our kids all organized an all-day game day! They wanted to get all their game time in before the two left.

Project Life Week 24

This photo of the notebook paper is how they made their plans so they could play all the games they wanted to play together, and they even voted. So very democratic of them!

Project Life Week 24

There were two filler cards on this layout, and this one I used for a bit of a summary about the week. Notice how cute the word strips are layered on top of the patterned paper strips!

Project Life Week 24

I included a few photos from the yard this week. You will see quite a few photos from my yard this summer in this album! I am enjoying watering them almost every night and watching them fill in so happily!

Project Life Week 24

This filler card was so much fun to create. I simply stacked a few of my favorite stickers from the Outfitters collection (Pink Paislee). The puffy camera is just awesome!

Project Life Week 24

The date card here also came together pretty happily! I had to use the cursive words from Simple Stories and I had to use those gold alphas from Pink Paislee. Oh my word I am in love with those alphas!

One more look at this fun layout:

The second layout from this week will be a two-page, multi-photo layout done as a traditional scrapbook layout. I will release that on Thursday! See you then!

TBT Project Life 2014 Week 26 | The Reading of the Epic Paint Story

Hi guys! Are you ready to hear it? I have been talking about our epic paint project and today is the day you get to hear the story of it. I ended up mixing the video up with a little bit story here, a little bit embellishing here, so have a look:

Since there are quite a few pages to show you, I am only going to show the completed layouts today. Page 1 here, with the layout you saw me complete in my process video last week:

Project Life 2014 Week 26

Page 2, which is two of the story layouts that are loosely based on Ali Edwards’ 31 Things format:

And then Page 3, with just one side completed for now. I will finish that next week!

Project Life 2014 Week 26

Ok, so let me give you a few close-ups, particularly of the embellishing I did on these pages.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

When I printed out these pages I realized there were a few spaces in the formatting that made it easy to add tiny bits of embellishments.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

I pulled just a few washi tapes and chipboard from Ali Edwards to use.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

The Tough story kit provided some great sentiments and chipboard pieces that absolutely fit in with this story.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

The word stickers are from February’s Heart story kit, also from Ali Edwards.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

My husband sent me this photo via text on one of the days he was working at the house by himself. This butterfly, as if it was blessing us, appeared out of nowhere and landed right there. At first I was going to leave the photo alone, but in the end this tiny word sticker was perfect.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

While I did not get photos of us looking like snow people, you can imagine what that might have looked like from this photo of my putty-encrusted hand! The irony in me wearing nail polish is just so hilarious, I can’t even.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

Even when there is a shortage of photos, don’t hesitate to look around Google images to find royalty-free images that might help you tell your story. On this page the photo of the fireworks helps to locate this project in the yearly timeline – while all this was going on the fireworks went on and still we painted and painted.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

If you look closely, you can totally see my reflection in this photo from above, trying to take the photo of the layout! Ah that reflective black on photo paper!

Project Life 2014 Week 26

I love this photo so much of our kitchen just as we finished the painting and removed the mucky tape and plastic. It looks so sparkly and crisp and white, but the ball of plastic tells the real story here!

Project Life 2014 Week 26

This is the final page. I know it has been a photo-packed post today!

Project Life 2014 Week 26

The little round chipboard piece right here says it all. My poor fingers, after sanding the walls by hand, through the entire house.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

I was having such a hard time with my lighting! You can see me in the reflection again, but life goes on. While this corner might seem pretty insignificant, to me it was a really big deal. When I lifted the tape after the painting, this wall was torn up something awful. Herbert patched it somewhat, but I still had to work on it as well. I was amazed it turned out like nothing ever happened!

Project Life 2014 Week 26

Well, they say all good things must come to an end, and we were so incredibly happy to see this end. I am also happy to have this story documented and included in our family albums.

Project Life 2014 Week 26

This truly is an important piece of our history and of our home. I am so thankful that scrapbooking allows us to photograph and write about these kinds of events. Life isn’t always graduations and weddings, sometimes life is about the decisions we make to bring about a real change in our lives. Writing about this has been cathartic for me. Of course we went on to move in and this house means so much to me. But it is nice to tell the story one more time and then close the book.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a Traveler’s Notebook day, but I decided to change things up a bit and show you a traditional layout! See you then!
