Disney Project Life Epcot Princess Dinner | Crate Paper Cute Girl!!!!!

Ok you guys, I have to apologize early on because there might be way too many exclamation points in this post. In working on my Disney album this week the new collection Cute Girl came in from Crate Paper and there was no way I wasn’t using it! So have a look at my process for this layout and then we will chat all about it!

This is the layout with only photos and journaling cards, all from Sahlin Studios Project Mouse.

And here is the completed layout, with embellishments and journaling added:

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

Oh my word, you guys. I love the wooden embellishments that came in the Cute Girl collection, and I brought this one up a notch using some vintage tinsel glitter to embellish.

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

I also just had to use this filler card that is in the Cute Girl ephemera pack. I seriously want 25 of these, ok? Oh so pretty. The transparent crown was also in this embellishment pack. How could I not use it on a Princess layout?!

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

Of course it is hard to pick a favorite Princess, and they were all so very awesome, but these photos with Snow White rank as some of my favorites ever. Oh my word.

Simple cardstock stickers on this photo, and then I will show you how I journaled about this photo.

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

I do wish I had documented some of the things these lovely ladies said to our girls and to our boys (because they definitely did talk a lot to all of us, only the boys did not get up and run to them for affection!). So I wrote that on my journaling card. If you are planning a trip, or have some of those conversations in your head, write them down and include them!

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

The cardstock stickers in this collection are amazing. I absolutely love using these sheets of stickers in my Project Life albums, so if you are strictly a Project Lifer, I promise you need these in your life and in your albums!

The right hand side only keeps getting better, you guys.

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

There is something in this photo that unobtrusively captures the magic and it isn’t even the scene of our children, it is the scene going on behind us. If you look in the background of this photo you can see a baby girl dressed up as Cinderella and she is meeting Snow White. Ya’ll, that mama was so freaking incredibly excited to bring her baby girl to that dinner and have her baby girl’s picture taken with each one of them!!!! The joy coming from that table was absolutely incredible and I have chill bumps on my arm just thinking about how happy they were! Oh trust me, I think I was just as excited and I think I have communicated that in this album, but seeing that reflected all around us is just almost more than a human heart can handle.

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

I absolutely had to use this fun tag, so I added a twine bow and adhered it down. Notice I have repeatedly used the glitter enamel hearts across the page. I need more of those, you guys! You need those!

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

I think you can tell in this photo, Ariel is most definitely one of the favorites in our house. Oh goodness, so much happiness.

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

I included another filler card here, using some of the puffy stickers. I am absolutely in love with these geometric confetti shapes!!

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

Just a little more journaling here, and a plain card that I embellished using one floral sticker. You can totally make your stickers go further by cutting them not quite in half, and using each piece to balance the card. Try this!

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

Last photo of this layout, and look, there is some of our food! If you watched the video, you probably absolutely saw me add the glitter onto the heart transparency and then discover that I neglected to remove the protective plastic on top! Ha! So I put the original transparency aside and used the film instead. I don’t know if this works or not, but I thought it was a fun way to stretch some of these embellishments a little further.

I leave you with one more photo, and a little glimmer of sadness that this is the end of the dinner photos in this album!

Disney Epcot Princess Dinner Crate Paper Cute Girl

Not to worry, more Disney goodness is up ahead. I have one more Epcot layout plus the map, and then we move into Hollywood Studios. Just a heads’ up that there are only about 6-7 layouts left in this album altogether! I am very close to completion and already beginning to plan what is next for Wednesdays. For now, I will see you tomorrow and TBT!

Disney Project Life Layout 06

Hi guys, so yay it’s Disney day! I am always excited every week to pull this album out and to complete another layout. Today is Layout six in my Disney album and it’s a fun one. The photos are of three of our children who were playing in a Tiki play area in the park while one of our children rode the Aladdin Magic Carpet. Check out the process video:

Here is the layout with just photos and journaling cards. As you saw in the video, I had a blank page on the right side and I chose one of the patterned papers from Starshine by Shimelle to complete that page.

Disney Project Life Layout 06

Here is the completed layout, with embellishments and journaling:

Disney Project Life Layout 06

So if you have ever wondered what it would look like to just have one photo in a Project Life page, now you know because I did it here. I think sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to fill as many pockets as possible with photos, but then think nothing of creating dozens of traditional layouts with just one photo! So here is what it looks like to just have one photo. I rather like how it turned out!

Disney Project Life Layout 06

I adore how this title card came out. The base card is from Project Life Honey Edition core kit, with embellishments from Starshine on top. The silver star, however, is left over from my Ali Edwards December Daily kit from 2015!

Disney Project Life Layout 06

I mentioned this in the video, but I will just repeat myself: I am in head over heels in love with those acrylic shapes from the Starshine collection! They are just awesome.

Disney Project Life Layout 06

Underneath the top photo is a little journaling and a simple card from Sahlin Studios. Notice I haven’t done much “magic” or “castle” themed stuff – this is not a kitchy Disney album because I have to admit I get a little weary of all that! I can’t do an over-themed album, just me personally, because I think you get the gist from the photos themselves.

Disney Project Life Layout 06

I added this yellow card to bring in a bit more yellow here, and then more journaling on the turquoise card. I really do like how these collections all come together with these happy colors, but still tastefully done!

Disney Project Life Layout 06

That’s it for Disney this week, thanks so much for following along!!! Let me know how you like it so far, ok?

Disney Project Life Layout 04!!!!

So let me show you how the layout looked with just photos and journal cards in place. I chose a lot of white cards in this layout in order to maintain a light feeling across the page.

Disney Layout 04

And here is the completed layout. Notice I made a few changes to the layout visually.

Disney Layout 04

I realize this card doesn’t show up very well, but I did add some acrylic stars from Shimelle’s Starshine collection.

Disney Layout 04

I think my favorite element of the layout are the word sticker and arrows in silver glitter gliding across the photo of the Astro-Glider! They are perfect for that page!

Disney Layout 04

I had not been to Disney in twenty years (!!!!) so the concept of Fastpasses was totally new to me. I will write about that more later, but for now this photo says a little about where we started out adventure.

Disney Layout 04

I will admit that there is not a lot to this layout, and that is ok. I feel like we spent a little time at the beginning overwhelmed and bewildered inside the park, trying to figure out what ride to go on first, dealing with all the people, so this is a breathing page.

Disney Layout 04

This was one of the design decisions that I made – to change out this journaling card. It adds some visual weight to the page, which I perhaps would do a little differently in hindsight, but it really is ok too right where it is. This card also adds a countdown element, which is just fun!

Disney Layout 04

There are so many views of the Castle from all directions around the park, so here is another view from the back. Simple layered embellishments on this photo because it didn’t really need much.

Disney Layout 04

The only thing I added across the bottom of this layout is the stamped image to the Adventure card. Also note the acrylic clouds on the red journaling card – I love how that turned out!

Disney Layout 04

Ok I will see you all back tomorrow with my TBT series!

Real Time Scrapbook Layout | Disney Layout 03

Hi guys, today’s layout is another in my Disney album and I am so excited to show it to you! Do you ever start a project and drag your heels on it and then you’re not really sure if you love it or not? Well today’s layout made me absolutely fall in love with this project. Have a look at my process video first:

So here is the layout to start with, it has two photos and the rest of our entrance cards.

Disney Album Layout 03

This is the completed layout:

Disney Album Layout 03

And then I also added a sequin pocket and a place to keep this Times Guide from the park that day.

Disney Album Layout 03

Ya’ll, I just can’t get over this photo and the sequins on top. This really was one of those serendipitous moments in scrapbooking: I wanted to make this insert for the Times Guide, and decided it should be 8×10. Half of it has the paper and the other half has the sequins. I didn’t actually know how this would look until I actually laid it over the castle photo, and I realized the sequins overlay perfectly.

Disney Album Layout 03

Here are the journaling cards underneath. Again nothing complicated, I added a few stars to the white journaling card and the arrow and sticker to the photo itself.

Disney Album Layout 03

The second journaling card just has the date stamp and another word sentiment stamped at the bottom (this card from the Honey Edition Core Kit). I love this simplicity.

Disney Album Layout 03

On the facing page, I left the Main Street card alone and added journaling next to it (both of these cards and the one at the bottom of this page are from Sahlin Studios, purchased from The Lily Pad).

Disney Album Layout 03

A simple embellishment across the bottom of the photo, and the word Dream added to the map card. And this layout is done, but definitely one of my favorites ever!

Disney Album Layout 03

Here is one more look overall:

Disney Album Layout 03

Alright, I will see you back here again tomorrow for a TBT layout!

Real Time Scrapbooking | Disney Layout 02

Hi guys, it’s time for another Disney layout and today I decided to video the process in real time for you! Take a look:

So here is how the layout began, with photos and journaling cards in place:

Real Time Disney Layout 02

And the layout completed:

Real Time Disney Layout 02

My internal goal with this album is to not over-embellish and not think too much, just to keep it simple in the effort to not get burned out or overwhelmed.

Real Time Disney Layout 02

I added another map to show our journey from home to destination. Use these Google maps to tell the story of how many miles and how long it is estimated to take! I also wanted to remember how we felt packing the car – it was our first trip together as a blended family and so the math equation of how many pairs of underwear were packed in our trunk just makes me laugh every time.

Real Time Disney Layout 02

One of the reasons I decided to use the Sahlin Studios Project Mouse was simply the opportunities their cards provide to write more stories. I have made the trip to Florida many times in my life, so my journaling here is probably an overall reflection of how I feel about that drive – it’s long and exhausting – but I loved having the opportunity and the space on this layout to write that down. And of course, making that long drive for this particular purpose is the best, so my journaling reflects that as well!

Real Time Disney Layout 02

This photo also makes me laugh every time – this is so much their personalities, if I bottled it up it wouldn’t do it justice but the photo captures it. For me, this is what photography is all about. Again, nothing is technically perfect in this shot, but the emotions, the whole range of emotions from exhaustion, trepidation, excitement, craziness, and even a little bit of “Get off me, you’re driving me crazy” is all right here.

Real Time Disney Layout 02

I noted this in the video, but if you haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, I recognize that there is a tiny jump made here, from the journey straight into the theme park! These photos were taken before I started Project Life, and there are some gaps. I did not take any photos at the hotel, and I did not take any photos with my phone! No worries, really. Include what you have, friends. I promise if you took 900 photos what you have is enough.

Real Time Disney Layout 02

I did keep some of the ephemera that came into our hands, and I love having those here. The pocket for our room key and our passes to get into the parks fit perfect inside the 3×4 pockets, and now they tell an even more significant story because those cards aren’t given out any more. Now you get a Disney bracelet (which is also fantastic!!), so I am happy I have documented how it was in 2012.

Real Time Disney Layout 02

You will not find much Mickey in this album, and why that is I’m really not sure, but I was really happy to have this cut-out of Mickey. He came in our hotel room with some other park information, and he fits well right here in this pocket.

Real Time Disney Layout 02

Another really great photo, again capturing the excitement and this time every child is practically unable to sit for just this nano-second! I try to get photos of them all together when the opportunity presents, and yes, sometimes they are staged like this one. That is ok, too, friends, because I want these four kiddos to remember long after they leave how it was with all of them together. These are the moments that are making them who they are, all of them together. Now, I don’t focus so much on making them look at the camera, but what I might say in this instance is, Hey act like you love each other, and craziness ensues. Sometimes they absolutely don’t want to, and in that case I would move on. But for this photo they were all excited to jump up on that wall for the photo. What a win!

Alright, that’s all for today and I will see you back here tomorrow!

~Theresa
