Woohoo throw confetti, you guys, I am done with the first half of 2017! I am sharing my Album A, which is chock full of pages created using Photoshop CC, and then embellished after printing. I anticipate picking back up in January to work on the second half.

Hello lovelies! Today I am sharing a hybrid Project Life layout from our 2017 album for Week 31. The layout was created in Photoshop CC using On A Whimsical Adventure Catching Waves collection, printed and then embellished using Elle’s Studio embellishments!
Here is a look at the completed layout:
Our stories for Week 31 included birthday celebrations for Natalie, who wanted cupcakes. We also spent some time at the pool and a local amusement park called Celebration Station. We took the kids to a midnight go-cart adventure and it was so much fun!
I created this layout for the On A Whimsical Adventure creative team. I took some of the digital papers, transfers, and elements to create my own journal cards in Photoshop. I particularly love the colors in this collection – the turquoise and corals printed beautifully!
Once my layout was printed of course I wanted to add hand written journaling and a few tiny embellishments. My favorite part – adding the textural details. I used some of my acrylic pieces from Elle’s Studio here in colors repeated from the digital collection. Yellows, blues, and greens, and a few touches of wood grains!
Hi everyone! Today I am sharing my process for creating a hybrid 12×12 layout using On A Whimsical Adventure Wanderlust digital collection!
Here is the completed layout! I absolutely love being able to plan these layouts on the screen and then print only what I need. Putting the layout together is then is just FUN!
I brought in some of my Maggie Holmes Gather collection to add dimension and glitter to the layout. I also added a few epoxy flowers that I have collected over the years, from Amercian Crafts, Tim Holtz, and Donna Downey/Prima.
In other very exciting news, my class called In My Pocket Memory Keeping was launched yesterday!!! Hooray! Pre-order is now complete and I decided to keep the discounted price at $35, so you can still take advantage of that. I promise this class is worth entirely MORE than that and is chock filled with ideas and inspiration. It is entirely self-led, although until September 28 I will release one lesson per week. You can join in at any time! Want to learn more? Head over here!
Hi guys! Today I am using a template from On A Whimsical Adventure to create this really awesome traveler’s notebook layout. What?! Use a template for a traveler’s notebook? Yes!
This was such a fun layout to create! In the template I chose to print only certain layers on the vellum, and the rest on card stock for the background. I love re-interpreting digital product into physical product like this!
Hopefully you can see here how the vellum layers beautifully over the background texture. Creating your own vellums using digital templates is a great way to use supplies in a unique way.
To place this layout in the notebook itself, I pried open the staples, lightly punched holes in the center fold, and placed them into the staples that are already in the notebook. You could also sew or washi tape these layers into the notebook as well!
Thank you for joining me today! See you back again soon!
Hi guys! Today I have my digital layout printed out from my 2017 Project Life album week 14, and now we are going to add just a few tiny embellishments and hand written journaling! I adore this part – feeling the textures in my hand and cutting and pasting all the pretty things.
Here is a look at the completed layout! I am so excited about how it turned out!
I began my process with the date card, simply adding the week number and two printed digital elements. I added the dates using a roller date stamp. All the digital elements are from On A Whimsical Adventure, the alphabet is from Amy Tangerine, and the roller stamp is from Target a few years ago.
In the beginning of the year, when I was starting my 2017 album, I was thinking that I really wanted to use patterned papers as the backgrounds on my layouts. But using the white background this week is particularly appealing to me! The layout turned out so crisp and clean, uncluttered even though there is a lot going on.
One of my favorite things about this week’s layout was definitely being able to use photos from Addison that he took on his trip to Washington DC! The two 3×4 photos are his, and the large photo of the whole class is from the school’s Twitter account.
To continue the uncluttered look, I really kept embellishing to a minimum. Just one tiny element per photo across the layout. I know, I know, we have such a tendency to want to use ALL THE THINGS (!!!!!) but resist that temptation sometimes. You will love the result!
Another favorite element in this layout is this stunning sunset over our house. The colors in the sky are so pretty, and I definitely repeated those colors in the embellishments as well. Wood embellishments are all from Gossamer Blue, and puffy hearts are Elle’s Studio.
This was most definitely a fun layout to create, from the process in Photoshop of layering photos plus digital elements, and then adding just the simplest embellishments to the printed layout! So much fun!
Hi guys, today I am so excited to share a layout with you that I have created using a brand new company to me – On A Whimsical Adventure! I am delighted to join their design team and this is my first layout for them, using the Easter Morning collection!
Here is a look at the full layout!
Our stories for this week included Easter morning, of course, lots and lots of planting around the house, a cute dog and an awesome growth spurt for Addison, and even a rainbow at the top of our hill! Definitely lots of good stuff going on and a layout filled with wonderful memories.
As always, I began my layout here with the date card, which is a hybrid card in the truest sense of the word. The week number is layered onto the journal card in Photoshop, and then the dates were stamped using the Kerri Bradford date stamps. Just a few physical embellishments add a tiny bit of dimension!
I used my own template this week for creating the layout and basically the template is a tic-tac-toe pattern alternating between 4×6 and 3×4 spaces. Very simple and definitely still lots of visual interest!
If you remember last year we had Addison do some growth testing and the results were not the greatest. It looks like he is having a growth spurt and for that we are so very much thankful and happy, and I am delighted to include that here on this layout.
As I was preparing to embellish the printed layout, I went through my stash and looked for any items I had that were mint or robin’s egg blue, purple, and yellow. Freckled Fawn has been sending some really cute purple embellishments lately, and I also was really excited to use these little green felt flowers. I love layering different textures on the page.
I did not add any text to the layout in Photoshop, so it became very important to add places to journal while I was embellishing. The tickets and this frame that were included in the digital elements of the Easter Morning collection were perfect!
My favorite photo of the week was this drawing by Emberlynn of herself and Natalie! They are so cute and I love all her little details!
The Easter Morning collection from On A Whimsical Adventure is available from Sweet Shoppe Designs and can be purchased by clicking here: Easter Morning Bundle. Thanks so much for following along with me today!
