Hello lovelies! Welcome back to my December Daily process for Days 10 and 11. Today’s layouts are brought to you by the miserable cold I have picked up, so in the interest of sanity while still keeping up, these layouts are fairly simple AND I threw out an entire pocket page from my album! Ha!
Here is the foundation page for Day 10. Products used are all from Sahlin Studio December collection.
For my completed page, I added a full page photo of our tree with bokeh lights and my journaling.
The number 10 is from Felicity Jane, heart from Ali Edwards Main Kit, LOVE alphas from Simple Stories, and stamp set from Gossamer Blue.
Here is the layout outside of the album.
For Day 11 we went on our annual visit to Tanglewood to see the lights. Be sure to have a listen to the video where I talk about how and why I believe in documenting the same events year after year.
Here is where I removed an entire pocket page from my album because it somehow ended up being extra and for the purpose of simplicity. On days when you don’t feel well, simplicity is important, and having foundation pages helps too!
I cut down the divided page protector and simply added two photos. For the full page, I added journaling strips to the buffalo check along with a glitter title from Amy Tangerine. So simple and fun!
Hello lovelies! Today I am sharing my really quick process for completing Day 05 in my 2017 December Daily album. By now you know that I love having my foundation pages fairly well completed so that on the actual day of December all I have to do is print photos and create my journaling. Today is just that sort of day, have a look!
This is how Day 05 looked at the start:
My story for Day 05 is very simple and continues from Day 04: the front of our house decorated and lit up for the holidays! We added new lights this year – the white LED lights that swirl around and around. We placed them so they only shine around in the portico of the door, so it’s very intimate and snowy when you stand on our front porch!
I changed out one of the journal cards, but notice how I took inspiration from the discarded card to embellish my photo. All cards and embellishments are from Sahlin Studio Making Spirits Bright (link opens in a new window).
The tags are also from Making Spirits Bright and I have simply added them to the album binding with my red velvet ribbon. Very simple journaling right on the back and that is all this layout needed.
Hi everyone! I am working through my Foundation Pages in my December Album for 2017 and this one is especially fun! I am using the newest collection from Sahlin Studio called December, and you are going to want to run over there to pick it up!
I am so excited to share these pages with you, and cannot wait to start the actual month of December and fill this album with all our best memories!
My approach to creating foundation pages really is quite simple: 1 card for journaling, 1 card for a filler, and space for a photo or photos. Add a number (or don’t, either way!) and it’s done.
I already placed alternating pocket pages into the album – for this year I am using a full 6×8 page on one side, and divided on the other. Some of the full size pages will be photos, others will be templates or patterned papers. I love having options there!
Whenever I receive a collection that I want to use in my December album, I always go through my foundation pages and select a number of pages to use the product in. In this instance, the December collection is digital, so I print out my favorite cards first thing. I print out all the numbers so I have those ready to go as well. And then I add them into the pockets.
That is all for today! I still have several foundation pages I am still finishing up and will share with you next week!
Everything has been quiet here on the blog and my YouTube this month but I did want to stop in and say thank you for being here, thank you for following along in all the Larkindesign adventures, and don’t go anywhere!!!! I am taking a little much-needed time off to refresh and create new content for you. Sometimes you just need to fill your own tank, and I hope you will take a little time for yourself as well.
I did want to remind you that there is still a little time to grab the In My Pocket Memory Keeping Class for 50% off, until October 19th! You can click the image below and it will take you right the the class page where you can sign up. I would LOVE to have you join us! This is the only time I will offer this class at 50% off, so take advantage now.
Last week I had a little design team work that I needed to complete for Sahlin Studio, and if you haven’t had a chance to check it out, here are my layouts for the brand new Enamel Pins and Artsy pack that are now available at The Lilypad!
This is a layout for Natalie’s personal album, and I have decided on some of the kids’ layouts to do one side 12×12 and the other side pocket pages. How fun is that, and it makes it so easy to include more photos!
So I hope you will stay tuned! As soon as November starts I plan to begin sharing my December album process with you and I will be jumping back into my December 2011 album as well. So many exciting things on the horizon! See you soon!
Woohoo throw confetti, you guys, I am done with the first half of 2017! I am sharing my Album A, which is chock full of pages created using Photoshop CC, and then embellished after printing. I anticipate picking back up in January to work on the second half.
