***Citrus Twist Design Team*** 2019 Pocket Life Weeks 07 and 08 Plus A Layout Share

***Citrus Twist Design Team*** 2019 Pocket Life Weeks 07 and 08

Hello Lovelies! Today I wanted to share with you the projects I have completed for the Citrus Twist Design Team for the month of April! Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page as well, where you can view my process video for this Project Life layout.

My favorite layouts to create with the Citrus Twist kits are most definitely pocket pages! Pocket pages are my jam, and the April Make It A Venti kit is perfect. My 2019 album is coming along and I loved using this kit for these two weeks in February. The soft colors with pinks and purples and a pop of blue made this layout easy to pull together.

I also created a bit in my Life Crafted album this month. I absolutely love this format and love just creating for fun.

The April kit was mostly coffee themed, but still a very versatile kit! I am not a fan of coffee, but I was inspired to think about other mug-related things and that inspired me to create this fun layout about mug cakes! I love these things and we eat them quite a lot in our house, so it was perfect to document here.

I also documented my love of Diet Coke for this layout that was shared on Instagram! I had so much fun creating that mixed background, and notice the vertical embellishments on the left. Such an easy trick!

This mixed media layout is perhaps one of my all-time favorites. I was inspired by one of the patterned papers in the kit for my background, and that amazing floral cut file. What an amazing creative month! Be sure to check out the Citrus Twist blog, and watch my process video below to see my pocket page!

Thank you so much for joining me! See you again soon!

***Citrust Twist Design Team*** Layout Share for March 2019

Larkindesign ***Citrus Twist Design Team*** Layout Share March 2019

Hello Lovelies! Today I wanted to share the layouts I have created for the Citrus Twist design team that I created in the month of March. I am loving being on this team and love creating with the beautiful Life Crafted Kits each month! I hope you will scroll all the way down, where I have a bonus process video for you!

I could not wait to begin working in the Life Crafted album. This is a navy travelers notebook sized binder that is perfect for standard size layouts. One of the things I love about it is that even though I love travelers notebook layouts, I really want them to feel more permanent. This album is perfect for that and gives those layouts a beautiful home. These albums will look beautiful on your shelf!

I began my album with an introduction layout about who I am and how I plan to use my album. I created this adorable little pocket that was included in the March Life Crafted Kit, adding a bit of embellishments and a journal card to go inside.

I added a photo of myself and lots of tags, die cuts, and labels along the edge of the photo, all of which tell the story of how this is a new chapter in my life. You can view my blog post for Citrus Twist via the link here.

I also shared a fun bonus layout on my IGTV this month.

I was inspired by the Butterfly cut file that is part of the Subscriber content on the Citrus Twist website. I cut the file using double sided card stock (CTMH) and backed some of the butterflies using a patterned paper from the March kit.

The other butterflies I layered cut outs using the lighter side of the butterflies. On this side the cut file is layered on top of the chevron patterned paper, so the solid card stock allows the butterflies to pop against the pattern.

My last layout (so far!) with the March Life Crafted Kit was a Pocket Life layout I created for October in my 2018 album. You can see the blog post on the Citrus Twist blog here.

I love using all the fun elements of the kit for pocket page layouts, and here are a few highlights.

The alphabet stickers were perfect for creating my date card and adding a working title to a photo! I also had great fun combining stamp sets to form word sentiments that help to tell the stories I wanted to tell.

I also love layering journal cards, as you can see with the blue Bits & Pieces layered over the stripe card, and then repeating that pop of blue throughout the layout.

I created a bonus process video of my first layout I created in my Life Crafted album. I hope you will watch that here!

Thank you so much for joining me today! See you again soon!

Clique Kits May 2018 Layout Share ft. Pinkfresh Studio!!

Hello Lovelies, today I am sharing the layouts I created as a part of the Clique Kits design team, using the May Riga kit. The Riga kit was filled with so many wonderful pieces from Pinkfresh Studio, and I love them all! I think I probably used up most of the kit and am delighted to share my layouts with you!

Here is a closer look at each layout!

I think curves were the main theme for me this month, because most of my layouts this month incorporated curves in one way or another!  To see more on how I created the layout above, check out the Clique Kits blog.

To help me create my curves I have used a really simple tool that is often used in architectural drafting: a flexible ruler. You can purchase one similar to mine here:

For the next layout, above, I invoked curves through the twine that wraps and curves around the layout, pausing to accentuate some of the embellishments and moving your eye around the page!. To see more about how this layout was created, visit here.

My travelers notebook layout was created for the blog hop, and I am completely in love. I cut the doily cut file from a really light card stock and cut it in fourths so I could divide it across the page. I wanted my title to follow the curves of the doily and love the flow around the page!

Last but not least is a pocket page layout I created for my 2013 album. You can see more on that process here.

Have you been enjoying your May kit? I have been diving into June and look forward to sharing more of those with you soon!

Traveler’s Notebook | (Very Simple!!!) Meal Planning

Hi everyone, today I wanted to share with you how I am doing my meal planning in a traveler’s notebook! I have been wanting to do this for a while because I want to accomplish two things: 1. I want to actually cook at home more often and make the decision making process easier; and 2. I want to actually prepare and eat the food we are buying! So take a look at how I have started.

Here is a look at some of the ways I have used this notebook to help with planning. I am using a silver glitter notebook from Webster’s Pages with inserts from Momenta.

I added a very simple library pocket from the Felicity Jane Heidi kit. This is a quick place to store coupons or other little slips of paper that I need throughout the month! The first insert is a calendar that I can keep in the kitchen. The calendar is the place where school schedules are kept, mainly so I can keep track of who to pick up when, and also so I know what days the kids have off. They also have half days here and there too. All of that lands in the calendar insert, and I love this insert because it allows space for a whole year!

Traveler%27s Notebook | %28Very Simple!!!%29 Meal Planning

This is how our basic meal plan looks each week. First I made a master list of all the meals we like to cook. It turned out to be about 14 meals! So I made these simple spreadsheets for two weeks worth of dinner meals and school meals. We pack lunches for four kids 2-3 days out of the week, and for two kids the rest of the week, and they pack them all themselves. This is a fantastic way to help them accomplish that and we love it. You can see I have made notes for the week shown, as we had to make a few last minute substitutions. That is so easy to do!

Traveler%27s Notebook | %28Very Simple!!!%29 Meal Planning

For the third insert, I have created our weekly grocery lists. Because I am very interested in actually preparing and eating the food we are buying, now when I prepare the grocery list I only have to look for the items I know are on the meal plan for that week. It has made our grocery trips much more efficient and less exhausting, because in the past we were just buying all the things! It was slightly insane!

Do you meal plan in your traveler’s notebook? This has overnight become my favorite and most useful notebook ever, and it is saving us money too! Link me up to your meal planning, I would love to see!

Traveler’s Notebook Favorite Things Edition | Nico the Cat

Hi guys! Today I am sharing a traveler’s notebook spread I created using my Gossamer Blue kits! This layout is in my Favorite Things Notebook and is about my cat Nico.

I am so very sad to hear that Gossamer Blue will no longer be offering their lovely subscriptions and products. I have truly loved being a subscriber over the last few years and the last few kits have been absolutely amazing. I hope to continue using the May, June, July, and August kits up for a while. This is today’s layout:

I am loving this yellow polka dot paper, so it is the starting point for the layout. I cut a square and then cut that in half diagonally. Everything is then layered on top of that.

One of the 3×4 cards had these darling little scallops, so I hand cut those and used those as home bases for my embellishment clusters.

I also used the tiny dot stamp to add a little color to the background.
