Hi there, today I am continuing through my 2014 Project Life album and thought I would document some of the furniture projects we took on during our move. Here is my process for this week’s layout:
This is the layout completed:
On the left hand side I began with photos from our first dinner in the new house, supported by the Life Pages cards in the Gossamer Blue September 2016 kit.
I always like to begin with my date card, and this one was particularly easy to pull together. The background paper is from Paige Evans’ Take Me Away and layers beautifully with the navy from the Life Pages kit. I brought in alphabets from Crate Paper and used navy ink for the stamped sentiments. Lovely.
Above the date card are these two 3×4 cards, with very minimal embellishments.
I love this photo capturing our first dinner in the new home. Having our new kitchen was a really big deal for us – feeding six people every day is a big undertaking that consumes a large part of our days so it was important for me to build a kitchen that worked well for us. We were thrilled to move in and begin adjusting to our new space!
I am particularly fond of how this journaling card turned out. Journaling on lines created with my Becky Higgins roller stamp, a few paint splatters, and fun embellishments.
This is one of the furniture projects we took upon ourselves, it is our TV cabinet that is in our bedroom. The cabinet is one we had already painted using Annie Sloan chalk paints.
Our kitchen, starting to look lived in but still not complete. At this stage we were still trying to plan how we wanted to build out a kitchen island. I absolutely love the combination of cardstock and chipboard stickers that are included in the Life Pages kits – they layer beautifully together.
One more look at the left side:
And here is a look at the right hand side. We spent a lot of time planning and designing our kitchen island and ended up doing an IKEA hack. This is a Liathorp cabinet with Varde top and stock furniture legs from Lowe’s hardware.
I am so very lucky – I happen to have a husband who listens to all my crazy, creative ideas and then finds ways to make them happen. I am the creative one who says this is what I want, but he is the actual brains and mechanism behind making it happen. We both love doing projects together and had so much fun making our home together!
Yes, this filler card actually says Okey Dokey Artichokey, and it cracks me up!
Everything about this journaling card makes me happy. More paint splatters, journaling lines, and stickers and stamps. And stars. Everyone needs stars in their life.
Here is our kitchen island almost finished. The legs still have to be painted, but it is up and functional and we love how it turned out. I love this space so much.
More simple 3×4 pockets here. Nothing fussy or overthought, just what I like.
Last card, and it is sort of the title card. I am in love with this floral – can we please have more of this, Gossamer Blue?!
Here is one more peek at the right side for you:
