2018 Product Release

July Release | Larkindesign Digital Collection Life In Full Bloom!!!

Hello Lovelies, and Happy July to you! I am so excited to release my July collection called Life In Full Bloom! And, you guys, I am especially thrilled to have created a traveler’s notebook kit as well this month. I have had so many requests for a traveler’s notebook kit and I hope you all enjoy using it!

Inspired by the unique, avant garde art of the Bloomsbury group in the early 1900’s, this collection is the right combination of colorful, fun, and hip! When I was growing up I was heavily inspired by Vanessa Bell, Virginia Woolf, Duncan Grant, et al, and have long wished to create some art that invokes their free, uninhibited lifestyle. I have drawn from their color palette but added my own twist so it still coordinates with the Larkindesign collections. My hand drawn elements and patterns make me so happy and I hope they will inspire you to create!

Included in this bundle are (12) 3×4 journal cards, (8) 4×6 journal cards, (10) patterned papers, and (2) sheets of printable elements designed to print and cut. The Traveler’s Notebook includes (10) notebook scaled patterned papers and the (2) sheets of printable elements. I have also designed a really cool set of photo templates for your traveler’s notebook layouts!

All files are sized at 300ppi for best printing. Click on the product below to purchase! For the month of July, receive 20% off your purchase.

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

Hello lovelies!!! Today I am sharing a layout I created using my newest release called Lovin’ the Sun! Sadly I lost video of my process video but I still wanted to share this layout with you so you could see this fun new collection. There is also a chance to win the collection, so be sure to watch and comment below!

Here is a look at the completed layout:

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

Our stories for this week included a mysterious, but hilarious appearance of the fake moustache, the hats from New Year’s Eve that were still being sported around the house, a refurbished screen door that Alan replaced, and lots of fun time outdoors!

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

I am really loving the pinks in this collection, so have chosen that color to tie the layout all together! The date card sets the tone for the layout. I have used Doodlebug alphabet stickers and my usual date stamp.

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

The cards in the Lovin’ the Sun collection are designed to give lots of space for journaling. I always like to use line stamps so my handwriting looks neater – my go-to stamp is the Becky Higgins roller date stamp that included several line types!

Check out Emberlynn – she is so full of life and laughter! I love that the bright happy colors of the collection compliment the joy of life – that is exactly my intention with this kit!

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

I am so fortunate to have the kind of husband who loves tools and is willing to tackle any project that comes along! We love working together and updating our home, and this particular week we were replacing the storm door on the front of the house. This is the house Alan lived in when we met, and I moved into this house for a few years before we built our home together. I am so thankful for these beautiful photos to remember.

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

Journaling is a wonderful thing, whether it is something that happened yesterday or many years ago. I loved completing this page because it gave me an opportunity to reflect on how it was when we lived on this cul-de-sac, and the friends we made there. They were friends who loved us and were so happy for us when we found each other, and they welcomed me with open arms when Alan and I moved in together. And when we moved away they cried with us but also rejoiced with us to make a new home. I made sure to include a little of that in my journaling for this layout.

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

So my take-away for you today is to embrace your journaling whenever you are able to write it, no matter how long ago it was. I think sometimes there is pressure to write everything down today or while “it is still fresh” in your mind, but as always, a photo will jog so many wonderful thoughts for us. And any time you are working on older layouts, think more broadly about the people, places, and things that were all around you so you can include that as well.

Larkindesign Layout Share | 2013 Project Life Week 08 Plus A Give Away!!!

One final funny photo here of the dog, Mickey. He is so hilarious, he follows Alan around all the time and if he can’t follow him, he still must know where he is and must watch him at all times. What a cutie!

Creative Team Jenn Hutt | Travelers Notebook Layouts ft. Ordinary Moments!!

Hello lovelies, today Creative Team member Jenn Hutt is on the blog to share  with us! Be sure to check out her About Me page, where you can learn more about her and connect with her on social media!

Hey ya’ll! I hope you’re having a great day!

The first project I worked on with the May collection was for day 48 of the RUKristin 100 Days of All About Me project. The topic is about your pets.

Creative Team Jenn Hutt | Travelers Notebook Layouts ft. Ordinary Moments!!Creative Team Jenn Hutt | Travelers Notebook Layouts ft. Ordinary Moments!!

If you remember from last month, I am doing my project in a handmade album that was inspired by Jessica Upton on instagram. The album pages measure 4.5″X8.5″ and use 6 binder rings (to match the hole punch I use).

This prompt was all about pets, and the only pet that I have is a cat named Eleanor.

I used a TN paper from Traci Reed’s XOXO collection as the background (I liked the simple pattern and it was already on my desk) printed on cardstock paper. I also printed and cut out the May elements from the Ordinary Moments kit. I layered two triangle tags at the bottom and stamped 48 on there using some Ali Edwards stamps, for it being the 48th prompt in Kristin’s 100 Prompts

I used a 2″ circle to punch out the picture of my cat (she was standing on the stairs the day of my wedding wondering why there were so many people in her house- we got married in our back yard and the bridal party was getting ready in the house). I layered this image of her on a circle that was cut from the elements page with a green border and pretty red flowers. I put an ‘ordinary moments’ cut out over that.

I used some black glittery American Crafts alpha’s from my stash to spell out her name. I layered two strips of paper behind a premade text box from the cut apart sheet for my journaling and layered that below her name. You guys know me, I like to keep things simple and I am really enjoying this size right now.

Creative Team Jenn Hutt | Travelers Notebook Layouts ft. Ordinary Moments!!Creative Team Jenn Hutt | Travelers Notebook Layouts ft. Ordinary Moments!!

The next two projects for the month of May were both single page spreads for my Travelers Notebook insert. They both document an event from Mother’s Day weekend, where a friend of mine got married and the other is a picture with another friend, whom I took out on Mother’s Day.

Once again I resized and printed papers from the kit to fit my size and then printed them out together (this time on regular printer paper since they’re going into a TN insert that is already bound together).

The page on the left documented the adventure a friend and I went on on Mother’s Day. I took her to the GeekCraft Expo in Durham, NC, where we both got a new pair of ears (mine are a galaxy cat pair and hers are a set of fox ears). Afterwards we went to McDonalds for lunch, which is where the picture was snapped. The flower elements, the heart, and the “different is beautiful” piece are all from the “Let Your Heart Decide” collection from Pinkfresh Studios (received in my May Clique Kit subscription). I used a red/orange label that matched perfectly from the Ordinary Moments cut apart sheet.

The project on the right was to document a wedding I attended the day before Mother’s Day. This page is super simple and there isn’t much to it. I used several elements from the same cut apart sheet (two hexagons that were cut off at the edges, the date label, the green label where I wrote a tiny bit of journaling, the today strip (it is on the edge of the photo), and the special days label). Super simple, but I really wanted to document this (it’s the bridesmaids, the flower girl and ring bearer, and the bride being silly. It was originally just supposed to be the bridesmaids but we got photo bombed).

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects for this month! Make sure you get your own digital Ordinary Moments kit and share your projects with us!

Creative Team Maribeth Lysen | Two Stunning Ways to Use Cut Files!!!

Hello lovelies, today Creative Team member Maribeth Lysen is on the blog to share  with us! Be sure to check out her About Me page, where you can learn more about her and connect with her on social media!

Today I wanted to chat about cut files. This month’s cut files are gorgeous! The first thing I did after I downloaded the products from Ordinary Moments collection was to cut out the poppies. I adore Theresa’s flowers in all her collections, but this cut file is my absolute favorite!

“/>

The cut files come as a PNG and as a JPEG so they are compatible with multiple machines. You can also use them as a digital element and print them like you would a regular digital embellishment.

I use the Brother ScanNCut2 to do all my cutting. When I first bought the machine on a whim after watching late night TV with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer on HSN, I let it sit in the box for six months before I got brave enough to try it out. I had wanted one for ages and I had heard it had a bit of a learning curve, and there is. But there are tons of helpful videos on the web and I was up and running in less than 15 minutes when I finally took it out of the box and plugged it in. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I had feared. And, once I got started, I was hooked! Now I love cutting all the things!

I decided to try cutting it out of black card stock so it would pop off the page. Typically I use white card stock but I really love how this turned out. I’m going to try using different colored papers with my cut files in the future. That little heart as the dot in the “i” is beyond adorable! To complete the layout, I mixed in more of the Ordinary Moments collection as well as some Pinkfresh Studio and a touch of Felicity Jane for my embellishing.

 alt=“/>”/>

The Poppy cut file prompted me to write about how the idea of home has evolved for me over the last several years after I relocated to another state. The cut file was the perfect jumping off point. This is a story I hadn’t documented before and I’m so glad I found a place for it. It was also the perfect opportunity to include a current photo of my flowers starting to bloom in my backyard. I’m so happy it is spring!

 alt=“/>”/>”/>

I backed the cut file with paper from the Crate Paper Flourish Collection from Maggie Holmes. I used Scotch Quick Dry adhesive in a Fine Line bottle to glue everything down. I added embellishments and chipboard letter stickers all from the Flourish Collection that I got in my April Clique Kit.  If you want to visit the Clique Kit store, you can use Theresa’s code: Moxley10 to get 10% off items in shop (not valid on kit subscriptions)!

My second layout features the Enjoy Today cut file, which I have used on a pocket page layout for my Project Life album!

 alt=“/>”/>”/>”/>

The Enjoy Today cut file comes in multiple sizes. Here I used the 4×6 size so I could include it on my pocket page spread from July 2017. I’ve been working hard on catching up on my 2017 album lately. It feels really good to get these photos and stories documented.

I hope you will try out one of the lovely cut files and share with us what you make! Also be sure to grab these cut files while they are free, until June 01, 2018! See you again soon!

Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler’s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!

Hello lovelies, today Creative Team member Hannah Lemieux is on the blog to share  with us! Be sure to check out her About Me page, where you can learn more about her and connect with her on social media!

Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!

Aloha!! Have you gotten your May digital Ordinary Moments Collection yet?! This Collection is so fun and perfect for the spring. Here is a look at the paper Collection.

This month I wanted to use a bit of this collection with the Crate Paper Here and There Collection. I have been looking through old photos from when we lived in Hawaii. I thought mixing the two with some pictures I took on a date night with my hubby in Honolulu would be fun. This photo I used isn’t the Ordinary date night photo either. If you have ever been in downtown Honolulu, even though it’s gorgeous in so many ways, there are a ton (and this wasn’t even the summer when it is tourist season) of people. I also had just finished a photography class so I was seeing things all from a different lens and wanting to capture things from a different perspective. I loved the way the stones on the sidewalk looked, and wanted to remember how natural Hawaii could be. Sometimes it’s these little Ordinary Moments that we need to focus on and document.

This Collection is perfect for that. I loved the 3×4 journaling card that said Collect Moments Not Things. This moment was exactly what I was doing!!

Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!

I made sure I used little embellishments to help bring out the colors in the collection. The geo tag, black and white camera and the gold mini staples. I really love using the elements sheet from the collection. labels, tags, washi strips they are all so handy in adding to the pieces I haven’t added from my stash and the Ordinary Moments collection. Having pieces that you can use to tie them together is so important. It helps the flow of your design. In a Traveler’s Notebook this is even more important because you are limited on your space.

Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!

I have been loving this torn look on the edges of my patterned paper. I did this effect on both the Crate Paper and the Ordinary Moments patterned paper. Then just adding one puffy sticker over it all to bring it all together.

Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!Creative Team Hannah Lemieux | Traveler%27s Notebook Layout ft. May Release!!!

For the top above the photo, I added a piece of ephemera with some washi tape that has tickets on it. Then I added a flare button. I know a lot of people don’t want to bulk up their Traveler’s Notebooks, and I get it. After just a few spreads a TN can be so full if you add dimension on every page. It can be hard. This is one of those times, where I am gonna say use your own judgment and do what feels right. If it your project do what you like. There are so many ways you can create a TN spread without dimension. You can create flairs with epoxy stickers, you can just use flat round embellishments instead.

For me, I need dimension, texture and something fun on my spread, even in a TN. I figure I probably won’t feel up a TN, so it’s ok if I need to start a new one.

I used some copper chrome like stickers and love how it brings out the dark tones from the stones on the ground. This is supposed to bring out what is in the picture. Make everything flow together and feel like it was suppose to be together in the first place.

You can only see it in the first picture, but I add a lot of journaling. It’s another reason i love using Traveler’s Notebooks, they offer this authentic space for adding hand written stories that can fill up the page. So that is what I do!!

I hope you enjoyed this spread. Until next I hope you all Stay Inspired!!

Hannah

Larkindesign Creative Team Jenn Hutt | April Layout For 100 Days Project!

Hi everyone, today Jenn Hutt is on the blog sharing her gorgeous layout using the Larkindesign Sweet Chicks Digital Collection! Be sure to check out her About Me Page, where you can connect with her on all your favorite social media.

Hey everyone! I hope this post finds you well. I am not sure where the month went, but it flew by quickly for me! Thankfully my office is mostly put together and I can start crafting in there… but I definitely miss how big my old office was. Trying to figure out where everything goes in a room that is a third the size of my old one is a nightmare. First world crafting problems.

This month I kept things super simple and I used the pages from the Sweet Chicks Kit to work on my 100 Days of All About Me project. I decided to participate in the 100 Days Project and I am following along with Kristin of RUKristin in her 100 Days All About Me, because she gives you all the prompts and you just fill them in. Each day I document the answer to a prompt that is sent to my email on the Notes app on my phone and I actually craft the pages together when I have the time and motivation.

Larkindesign Creative Team Jenn Hutt | April Layout For 100 Days Project!

Theresa’s collections are great for this kind of project. They coordinate well together (obviously) and there is a lot of white space that is good for journaling. I just made adjustments to the cards to fit the size I need and then bam. Project done, easy peasy.

I got the idea of a mini album that is the size of a Travelers Notebook but on rings from Jessica Upton and absolutely love the idea! I love TN’s but after a while they get a little hard to work with the fuller they become, and they have a limited number of pages. I saw Jessica’s idea on Instagram and fell in love. So I created my own album.

I started off with two cards from the kit that I really liked and resized them to 4.5″x8.5″, which is slightly bigger than a TN. I picked cards that had a little bit of color, either at the top or bottom, and lots of white space for me to write on. I printed them out on my printer at home in a landscape format and cut them out with my paper trimmer. Then I decided which prompts I would put them with.

Larkindesign Creative Team Jenn Hutt | April Layout For 100 Days Project!

I decided to start with the first prompt, which was “What is your name”. I stamped out the title with some new alpha stamps from Ali Edwards’ Type story kit at the top. I took a banner and put it sideways, stamping the numbers from another Ali Edwards stamp set called The Time (this one is from this year’s OLW selection) and attaching that. I used some black alpha thickers from my stash to spell out my name. At the bottom I used some of the labels from the cut apart sheet at the bottom to add more color and called this one good.

The thing I love about this project is that I can combine my love of scrapbooking with my love of detailed journaling. My layouts are simple and focus more on the journaling, which is what I want. Sometimes I will include photos and sometimes I won’t. I can’t wait to see how this album turns out. I plan on using parts of the kits throughout the rest of the 100 days.

Larkindesign Creative Team Jenn Hutt | April Layout For 100 Days Project!

The next page I completed is probably prompt number 3 (I haven’t figured out where to put the number yet). This prompt was all about my hobbies… and there is a long list of those hobbies. Haha. I am the kind of person that can’t focus on one type of project for too long or else I get burnt out and lose motivation. So I have a lot of ongoing projects and a running list of things I want to do a mile wide.

I took another journaling card from this kit and resized it to the same dimensions as the first page. I used the same alpha stamp set for the title and just wrote out my list of hobbies. This one was super simple and easy to complete. I like how bright and colorful my pages are thanks to Theresa’s kit and she makes them see say to use and resize!

Did you know that there are photo templates that you might be interested in! Make sure you go check out her shop and see what creative goodies she created.

May is just around the corner and that means a new kit is coming to you soon! Don’t let May pass you buy without checking out the loveliness that Theresa creates!

Larkindesign Creative Team Sabrina Poole | Getting Yourself In the Photos!!!

Hi everyone, today Sabrina is on the blog sharing these amazing tips to getting your own photos and getting yourself in your albums! Be sure to check out her About Me Page, where you can connect with her on all your favorite social media.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share some fun and easy ways to include yourself in your photos more. It is not always easy, but your family (and you!) will appreciate having these photos to look back on. I even snap selfies with NO makeup on now AND scrap them! That took awhile to get use to, but its worth it. Let’s get started on some tips.

1. Use Snapchat filters.

This may sound like such a silly thing to do if your Mom or just an older woman, but nothing makes you feel better than some goofy filters. There is always a filter on there that can make you laugh or feel extra pretty. Sometimes it takes me right back to be a little kid and being excited over dress up or face painting.

2. Grab those kiddos, hubby and family and snap away.

I make more of an effort now to snap photos of me with my family members. Even if its an ordinary day, I still capture photos. In this layout I used the March Larkingdesign digital collection, Grow Deeper Roots, and I scrapped several photos of my kiddos and I in my in-laws backyard. I don’t think I’m wearing makeup and I’m certainly not glamorous, but the pictures show proof of us in that moment. That’s priceless. So keep snapping photos, take a bunch in case you have reluctant people and capture the everyday.

3. Pose in front of a window.

This will make you feel glamorous or ethereal. 🙂 Standing in front a window will cause an instant white background which makes for an ‘perfect’ selfie. In the January Larkindesign release called Out With the Old I took a window selfie, tinted it pink a little and paired it with a quote from the release to make this traveler’s notebook spread.

4. Embrace your selfie and join a movement

If it takes 50 shots to get 1 you are ok with, do it! Then you can use this selfie to participate in an Instagram challenge started by Kristin Tweedale called #thursday3. You post a current selfie and 3 current facts about your life right now. It is the best way to connect with other women, other creatives and other people embracing themselves. This is exactly what I did for this spread I did using some April releases. I stood in front a window (see previous tip) and snapped several photos before I headed out for the day. Here’s the layout:

5. Celebrate yourself with selfies

By snapping selfies of yourself and just getting in the photos you are leaving behind a piece of you and that is a wonderful thing. I would even say its necessary. You are a complex person full of awesome stories that deserve to be told. Also, since so many scrapbookers and creatives are busy Moms that is even more reason to tell your story and document that photos of you and pieces of you.

I hope these tips inspire you to tell more of your story, step in front of the camera more and embrace everything that makes you YOU!

xoxo Sabrina
