Traveler’s Notebook Charleston Edition Part 01!!!!

Hi guys! Ok, so are you ready to dive into some Traveler’s Notebook scrappy goodness?! Grab a cuppa something because this post is going to be good. Have a look at the beginnings of my Charleston insert:

So yeah, I am so stinkin’ excited about how this project is moving forward! Let me show you the layouts I have completed so far.

Traveler%27s Notebook Charleston Edition Part 01

My first entry is a photo of a palm tree I took somewhere on Broad Street, with simple washi from Target and a stamp. The word art on the photo is from Ali Edwards Summer Passport freebies she offered on Pinterest several weeks ago!

You probably saw this already, where I printed out this little 3×4 card from Pinterest and then added the dates using my stamp sets from One Little Bird and Kerry Bradford. The washi tape is Scotch brand, and the word strip that is stamped on the card itself is from Gossamer Blue.

For the second layout I decided to use this photo of my and my husband that actually has nothing to do with Charleston, but oh I love the photo so much. So in it goes!

I had already done this side while we were in Charleston. I had received a paper fan from the Gibbes Museum, so I cut it into pieces and used part of it here. Then I wrote my journaling around the semi-circle.

This photo of us was taken on a date night several days before we left, but I think it totally can go right here. This is a story of us, a story of a rare honeymoon trip for just us.

We took this photo with my iPhone in our driveway. Let me encourage you to take a few minutes sometimes to capture these shots. We set the camera on the hood of the car and set the timer. Because the hood was a little slanted, the photo is also slanted, but a little edit can fix that quickly.

On this layout the washi tape is from Paper Source, the rubber banner and enamel dots are from Pinkfresh Studios, and the stamps are from Ali Edwards Believe stamp set.

The third layout finds us driving into the city of Charleston the night we arrived. I am in love with the Ravenel Bridge and enjoyed capturing it at several different times of the day. I love that it is an iconic part of Charleston – you always know you are almost there by its presence.

This transparent washi tape is from Hobby Lobby, and the stamps are both Gossamer Blue and Ali Edwards.

There actually is a tiny oopsie at the top where the happy place banner stuck down wacky. So I added the Adventure Awaits sticker on top, added a stamped heart, and kept on going.

This is the front and back of a small brochure we picked up at the Charleston visitor center downtown. I grabbed two. I love that someone else did the photography here, and I love the instant links listed here. We used these links quite a bit to get around, and now they are included here for later!

For the next layout, I had already added the coaster and my journaling. So I added just a few stamps and the rubber banner from PinkFresh Studios.

On the facing page I included a photo collage from our dinner at Kickin’ Chicken. I created the collage in the PicStitch collage, and they are edited in A Color Story.

This entire layout just makes me happy. We had such a fun time that night, driving into the city and seeing where we landed for dinner. It was late, and they literally rolled up the city sidewalks behind us as we left.

I may not be completely done with this layout, but here is where I stopped working for the day. I took this photo outside of the Williams Sonoma on King Street because I love the tile patterns. So much visual inspiration in this city, sometimes in the most unexpected places.

I experimented again with some of Ali Edwards’ word art that was part of her Pinterest promotion but I’m not sure it really worked against the tile floor. Oh well, some washi tape and a chipboard sticker from PinkFresh, and I kept on going!

For my journaling I added some of the sticky notes from the Fancy Pants Attwell collection. The sticky notes themselves feel a bit clunky to me because the borders are rather large, so I cut them down and then cut it in half.

I played some more with Ali Edwards’ word art from Pinterest here, adjusting the perspective so it looks like the words are leading us onto the bridge. I am so loving this style of scrapbooking, of being able to put as many photos as I want and not worry about if it’s too many or where should they go on the page! Have you tried these? Share with me if you have because I would love to see. Also, be sure to check out my Pinterest board for Traveler’s Notebooks – it has about 550 pins for inspiration and you can find other really cool people who are doing this as well!
