Hello Lovelies! We are headed to the parks today, starting with Universal Studio! This is of course outside of Disney parks but since we have four teenagers we thought they would love Universal and Islands of Adventure, so that is what we did the first two days. How fun! Today I am going to share a layout about Universal, including some of the random photos I took from around the park itself. If you’d like to see all the layouts from our Disney 2020 album you can check out this link here: Larkindesign Disney 2020 Album. Come follow along with the process video here.

My product choice for this layout was the Click Edition kit from Project Life, designed by Krista Sahlin of Sahlin Studio! The graphic elements in the kit and the simple red, blue and grey color palette makes it perfect for the rich and colorful photos I had. My main goal for creating this layout was to create space for the building photos and kid photos that don’t fit with a particular ride or event. My plan is to create a similar layout for each of the parks so that the miscellaneous photos have a home.

On the left hand side I began the layout, as always, with a title card. I don’t need a date card here, but did want readers to be able to easily identify where we are. The three circles on this card made me want to add an embellishment to each of the three circles, but I ended up adding a simple word strip there with an enamel heart in red. I added the title using Elle’s Studio puffy alphabets, and then stamped a word sentiment at the bottom from the Ali Edwards Magic Story stamp set.

I created a really fun journal card from the yellow floral card in the 3×4 pocket. There were quite a few cards in the Click Edition that have graph paper and those are so easy to layer so you have room to journal! I layered that graph card on top of the floral and added a red arrow from the die cuts. The tab on the bottom photo was created so very simply from another card as well, using a Tab punch from We R Memory Keepers. I am keeping up with the numbers in this album, and this is memory number 7.

I grabbed a photo of the sign as we were approaching the park in our car. I printed that in 3×4, along with a photo of the kids walking through restaurant row. The geotag on the red journal card is also from the Click die cuts.

I won’t lie, it was challenging to get photos of the kids on this trip! They took off on their own quite a bit, and when we were together as a family they weren’t too keen on having photos taken. Ha! I did get one of them all facing the camera before we went into the park, which was great! So I included that on the layout along with the others. I also had a snapshot of my husband and myself together and I was so happy to include that as well!

The right hand side continues with more photos from around the park, and more of the gorgeous Click Edition kit!

I have always been inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and was tickled to see their version of the Guggenheim in the park, just tucked behind one of the roller coasters. This is part of the fun of Universal for me, just walking through and seeing what details you were able to find going along! I also loved seeing the buildings decorated for Christmas still.

One of the cards from the Click Edition was this black on white arrow card, which I thought was a great opportunity to add a bit of color to! I used a red stamp pad and the word stamps from the AE Magic stamp set to tie it into the rest of the layout.

I also really loved this journal card which repeats the graph paper and has these fun red elements. I layered another red die cut and one of the black and white arrows, you know, just because I love embellishments, and then added my words. I journaled on this layout about how we felt that day in the park and how we experienced it.

These two 3×4 journal cards were especially fun! I needed a tiny bit of blue repeated on this side, so I chose the half blue, half black and white card, and then I layered a circle bit from another card on top. The game for me, when using Project Life kits, is to see just how many cards I can use on one layout! Ha!
