Larkindesign Kids Scrapbook Albums | Emberlynn Edition | Hello Pumpkin

Hello Lovelies, today we are hopping into Emberlynn’s albums to create a layout from a visit to the pumpkin patch in 2014. Learn more about our Kids Scrapbook Albums on our blog through this link here: Larkindesign Kids Scrapbook Albums Project. You can also learn more in the classroom! This layout was so much fun to pull together. I have used the newest Crate Paper collection Fresh Bouquet, which has a very fall-ish feel to me! The color scheme is very soft and muted, with orange and grey and green, so I printed off a photo from a visit we took to the pumpkin patch back in 2014. These were always some of our favorite memories that I treasure forever, and want to be sure to include in our kids’ albums.

This layout began with the tags, which I created randomly one day while watching the rain outside. Did you ever just want to create something without thinking too hard about it? I did just that – I cut apart all the tags from the cut-apart sheet, and opened up all the embellishments from the collection. I then took some of the chipboard, the puffy stickers, the card stock stickers, and the washi tape to layer little bits and bobs on top of those tags.

Then I laid out all these tags plus my photo on top of this lovely yellow grid paper. The only thing I really paid attention to was how they fit into the page, and I tried to keep the vertical lines consistent so that the page remains organized in some kind of way. And since they were already embellished, the layout didn’t really need much more!

I did stamp a little bit directly onto the background paper, using the stamp set from the Fresh Bouquet collection. I used the branch stamp just to fill in some of the blank spots left and to visually continue the flow. Those stamped images also become a home base for little embellishments I added as well.

My title and my journaling are connected to the main photo, physically and visually. The title placement is something I don’t think I have ever done before: I just simply added it right on top of the photo, paper, and embellishments! I think it works, since the title is black, and it brings your eye right there. The journaling is underneath the photo on one of the die cuts, and I also layered a few word strips at the top of the photo, again to link it to the photo itself.

One last detail was adding the bows: some of the tags are turned upside down, so those I tied together, and other single tags I added a little bow, just to add a bit more texture. How fun! I hope you get a chance to create today, thanks for joining me! See you again soon!
