Hello Lovelies! Today and every Wednesday it is time to Art Journal With Me, and today I have a special surprise. I am now creating process videos along with this series for you to see my process in more detail. If you’d like to see more of my art journal pages, follow this link here: Larkindesign Art Journal Series. We are also now featuring a new process video each week for the Art Journal With Me Series which can be viewed on our YouTube channel. Let’s check out the process video!
To begin this layout, gather your supplies. I like to start simple, so a notebook and a pack of tags from Pinkfresh Studio Noteworthy collection. Just enough to get you inspired.
I decided I needed a bit of background on this plain white paper, so I grabbed a polka dot stamp from American Crafts and stamped that randomly on the page. I’m not worried at all about stamping it just so, I only want this to be my background. The layers we add to the page will blend this in perfectly.
Once the background is down figure out how you want to lay out your tags. I have cut mine in half and chose to allow them to sort of fall off the page. This design will tell your eye to follow the path around the edges of the page, which is a fun design trick you can use over and over again!
Of course it is always fun to add more layers, and the die cuts from the Noteworthy collection are beautiful. I had floral die cuts, ephemera, and puffy stickers that all come together to create the loveliest texture on the page. Some of the word art also serve as my affirmations. These are reminders that everything is ok.
Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you are inspired to cut up some pretty papers or tags today and express yourself in creative ways. See you again soon!
