Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my Disney Album project! Thank you SO MUCH for all your enthusiasm, your excitement, your lovely messages and comments of support of this project! I am so delighted each week to share these layouts with you and am loving each layout even more and more. Today I am documenting our hotel, which was Disney’s Art of Animation! This was an amazing place to stay! I am working with two collections from Project Mouse: the Project Mouse Animal collection and also Project Mouse Bundle No. 02 Leading Up To The Magic. Follow along with me here.

I mentioned in my process video, and I wanted to reiterate how these photos did not all get taken when we actually arrived at the hotel. We arrived at Art Of Animation late at night and there was no way photos were going to be their best at that time, plus we were just trying to get settled. So these photos were taken later on in the week, a few of them were taken right before we checked out on the last day, and I say this just to remind you that your photos don’t have to be perfect! They don’t have to be taken at just the right time. What was important for me was to document some of the highlights of our hotel, so I made the point to take the photos (mostly!) that I wanted, and then I gathered all the photos together to create this layout.

Once I had photos printed, and journal cards chosen, the layout *should* have come together fairly easily! And it did, except a little battle with alphabet stickers. What is it with alphabets not having enough E’s or N’s? It all worked out in the end, starting with my title card. This is actually a secondary card, as the vellum insert became the main title. But this card is one of my absolute favorites from the Animal collection, and I added Lion King with puffy stickers from Studio Calico. Below that is the 3×4 Checking In card from Leading Up To The Magic.

I have used a few word art on my photos for this layout as well. I find these are such simple ways to add words (and therefore sentiments) to the photos without adding bulk. The bottom photo is of the entryway to our building, which happened to be the Lion King building. Each building in Art of Animation is themed, and we chose Lion King. We are definitely Lion King fans in this family!

I added a quick chipboard piece that I had in my stash to the photo of the walking bridge leading to our building. You couldn’t actually walk up there, but it was fun to feel like you were part of these iconic movies! We also had music that followed us, so at least once a day we heard The Circle of Life.

The entrance of Art of Animation is famous, and simply stunning. It reminds me a bit of the United Airlines thruway in Chicago O’Hare airport, and we loved walking through there just to take in all the colors. It was hard to choose which photo to include! I added a simple word art at the bottom, so the photo wouldn’t be obstructed. Also, the birds from the Nemo building found their way into this layout as well! We passed those birds every day, on our way to the pool or to the food court. I think everyone feels a Love-Hate relationship with those birds: they yell out Mine! Mine! at intervals throughout the day. Personally, I loved them and thought they were hilarious.

I mentioned earlier that I created an insert that serves as the main title for this page. I printed a photo of the little side tables in our room onto vellum and slid it into a 6×12 page protector. These little tables were so cute, and I loved that they had the lyrics imprinted on them. I added the wooden castle from Elle’s Studio, and the hotel name with alphabet stickers from Simple Stories. This is such a cool element in the album now!

The right side of the layout includes photos of our kids in the lobby, and a few photos from inside our room. So travelling with four children can be a bit tricky, because most hotel rooms accommodate 4 or 5 guests maximum. This is part of why we chose Art of Animation, because it has suites that fit larger families. Plus it gave Alan and me the privacy of a room with a door and our own bathroom. The room had some fun details, like the side tables, the dining table that turned into a Murphy bed, and the shower was pretty cool with its sunrise scene!

I love this tan card from Project Mouse Animal, because it echoes the profile of the animals on the walking bridge on the left side! I chose a title from Heidi Swapp just to add a bit of something to that card. That word art is meant to go through a Minc, but I don’t have one, and I actually like that the word Magical is a bit darker. It works perfectly!

You can see the detail of the dining table, and then below that photo I have used this mixed media card from Project Mouse Animal. I already knew exactly what I wanted to do with that card on my layout, so I added a bit of word art at the top and printed it out. Then I added lines with the dotted line stamp from Elle’s Studio, and journaled right on top. I love how that card turned out, and it is also a nice bright pop of color.

You can see the side tables in the photo below, which gives the insert a direct link to the rest of the layout. The red journal card is also from the Project Mouse Bundle No 2 Leading Up To The Magic.

Natalie and Alan really loved the art work that was featured on the walls in the lobby. John Lassiter is so incredibly talented, and seeing the art work evolve on the walls was quite inspiring. I had the kids pose in front of that wall so we could remember. They look like quite a Mod Squad, don’t they? I love it so much. It captures them perfectly right now, just as they are.
